Now I'm really confused?

I've bought a CETME wood stock set from Century and a backer plate and buffer from H&K parts house and when everything arrived tried to put them all together but, hole in back plate did not line up with hole in stock? Called H&K parts and finally got to speak to a lady who so confused me I just said thanks and hung up. Will a CETME stock work on a G3?
Steve

I ordered one as well, but my I used the CETME backplate and buffer, and just installed it tonight with no issues other than the handguard securing screw was missing so I had to find a replacement. But mine is a CETME.

You bought a CETME wood stock and are trying to fit it onto an HK metal back plate. Will not work.

A complete CETME butt stock assembly won't work either, unless you modify the spring retainer. The hole in the carrier is smaller on the CETME.

If you want a wood butt stock I suggest locating an original HK unit and calling it done. Yes, they are considerably more expensive.

There is a different alignment of the buffer - between a HK and a CETME.

I do not think a dremel tool will turn your HK G3 into a Wok. Also don't know many folks that would try such to a G3. Apex has the correct G3 stock for $49. See if can get refund on your incorrect parts, sell them in marketplace and buy a proper stock before you grind on a G3. Were you considering grinding on a CETME it might be different story.

I think if you're asking this, than you shouldn't be touching it with your dremel. Just buy the right part.
