Im back with a Pacific Armament Imbel

SO...
First FAL was the L1A1 CIA - It was a Lithgow and really a nice gun. It was an Imbel receiver. I sold it because we were opening a gun shop and I wanted something I could show people and order them one.

SO, I bought a DSA para. I didn't like it as good as my L1A1. It just didn't have soul being a modern american made gun. It was ok... but I didn't love it. I have another occupation that took me away from the gun shop and we closed. I sold the DSA because I needed money. I hated that I had to sell it. BUT i was thankful that i had something of value to sell.

My financial situation has change dramatically. The other day on a spur of the moment gave $1000 for a tanker Garand. It was a nice gun but likely a reweld although I couldn't prove that. But after messing with it I didn't really like it. So I put it on the local classified and within an hour traded it for a very nice Imbel from pacific arms. It is SWEEEET! So I have a grand in it and that is likely too much but it will not be in time. The only down side is that it doesn't have a muzzle brake. It is the STG 58 style... No muzzle brake, no bipod but it is bipod cut. The numbers don't really match... anywhere... but the gun just looks good and honest. Like all the finishes match and looks really good. I am so excited. Trigger is the normal fal crappy trigger.

So all that to say... Im back in the FAL game with my nicest FAL yet. What type of muzzle device to I put on it?

Very cool E barrel you have there. PAC didn't build your rifle. They only imported the receiver. Is there a date in the mag well?

The kit looks to be StG so you need a Stoll for the muzzle. You also need a bipod.

What is the serial # on the lower?

What is an "E" barel?
I see no date in the mag well.
The receiver is PAC5457
The Lower is 111828

Right above the receiver serial is a stamp. it is not legible. in my mind I can make it say "Assemble by CAI" then to the right 308. But it is so faint. and only the top half of the letters show. I thought it was some rust or a ding in the metal but the closer i looked the more this appears. I didn't want a century gun... dang it. But I think it says that.

Its a Century Centurion 58, on the one i have the gas piston is a two piece, replace it.
The HTS is Century also, it must not of worked because it was filed to dead, i also threw that away.
The trigger spring, sear spring, and recoil return springs were clipped, I replaced them.

look hard at barrel, it will be stamped "Centurion 58" in 1/16 inch letters, on the left, ahead of the gas block

Ha! Damn Drunken Monkey's stamped it on the right side... That would make this rifle rare!

The next time I hear "THE RANGE IS NOW HOT", it just wont be the same.

Max tried another question. "What sort of people live about here?"
"In THAT direction," the Jin said, waving its right paw round, "lives a Han: And in THAT direction," waving the other paw, "lives a Ming Hare. Visit either you like: they're both mad."
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Max remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Jin: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Max.
"You must be," said the Jin, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Aaron,

Nice job on that Centurion, very sharp. Can anyone provide a bit more information on the Century Centurion 58s? Are they all a mixture of IMBEL PAC receivers and Stg 58 barrels? When were they made, and how many were produced? The Centurian seems to be a bit above the standard fare from Century, is this just my observation or did Century actually produce a decent FAL?

Thanks! Honestly if you picked this rifle up and ran the action and shot it, you would be super shocked to discover it is a century. Iíve had others and this one seems like the best one Iíve handled.
