If You Could Only One Beer Brand What Would It be?

Miller Lite is getting expensive and Natty will pound your head.

High budget would be Boston Lager, Low budget is Henry Weinhards Private reserve. If there could only be one? Erdinger Hefeweisen, from my motherinlaws home town. Bubbly bread, in a bottle.

This thread title is proof that the drinking thread started *after* the drinking did.

PBR. $7 for six tall boys.
I have been educating my palate with craft beers of all persuasions for the last six years or so. I have really tried to like the IPA's but my taste buds have said emphatically, "NO!" Tried to like the bourbon barrel aged beers. Nope! If I want to drink something that tastes like bourbon, I'll drink bourbon. I'm also tired of paying $12-14 for a sixpack of craft beer. I'll stop now.

Not a fan of PBR. But yep, I just like ordinary beer. IPAs are too bitter. Dark beer too filling. Plus I'm not paying for expensive beer. Miller light is almost a buck a can and that is getting pretty expensive.

I would manage just fine if I was limited to only Bell's Brewery's offerings. I drink mostly liquor, though; rye in particular.

I've always liked a see through, light urine like color to my beer. I catch a lot of flack from fellow beer drinkers for this. Miler Lite is a cheapest ($18.99) when bought at Costco by the 30 pack. I by them warm, throw some in the fridge and keep the rest in the basement. Miller High Life is even cheaper.

Blatz is the sound I make after having eaten at Taco Bell.

Did drink a lot of Rolling Rock back in the days of living near the Latrobe, Pa brewery. A friend worked there and got us the big discount. It was cheap and we were poor. The rock was a very pale beer. Iron City was another PA brew that we joked about being made from iron mine water. Stoney's was another local brew that was about as dry as could be made, but it really put a knot in your head.

Latest drink was for a richer, full bodied brew such as Boston Lager from Samuel Adams. I prefer the richer beers to the modern bar scene aimed at kids. Brews of the likes of Bud and other popular bar offerings, always seemed to me to be more or less a pop beer made to play to the tastes of younger, less experienced users.

With my ongoing pain management regimen, two beers is about it. Any more and it's hello floor. I do miss a full bodied, rich brew, though. Am envious of those who can sample all the private labels making true craft beers and those exploring offerings from out of country. Did a lot of taste testing while serving overseas and found it to interesting and refreshing.

Any old domestic swill will do, I don't drink much beer so it doesn't matter what they offer. However if forced to make a choice it would be the Silver Bullet, Coors, the glock of beers.

I don't like beer very much, but sometimes I drink a few Dos Equis, green or brown. Modelo ain't too bad either with chips and salsa.

I don't drink enough to worry about "lite" - If I can lift it off the bar or table, it's "light." Lite beers are good if your goal is more frequent urination.

We have THREE excellent local craft breweries within 10 minutes:

http://braverybrewing.com/ Co-founded by BRian AVERY and R. Lee Ermey

https://transplantsbrewing.com/

http://luckylukebrewing.com

I try to ONLY support local craft brewers instead of Big Beer. I am going to start brewing my own.

We have a local joke going around with Big Beer involvement in our local craft brewing festival:

Presidents of Coors, Anheuser Busch, Miller sit down with the director of the Craft Brewers guild for a beer. They order a Coors light, Bud Light and a Miller light. The director of the Craft Brews Guild orders a Coke. The Big Beer chiefs are surprised since he's a beer aficionado and ask him why he's not ordering a beer. He replies, "since you're not drinking beer, neither will I."

JMHO, burp!

Light and tasty: Steelhead Pale Ale, Mad River Brewing Co. (better out of the keg than the bottle)

Full body: Sam Adams Lager (but don't overdo it, a six pack will leave you begging for death the next morning, killer hops or ???)

IPA: Lagunitas is good

Recent favorable experience: Pizza Port "Over The Falls" IPA (only had one, but at 8.3% ABV, probably best to limit this one also)

You can only have 1. And yeah hoppy beers are like drinking a box of stinky Keystone's the next morning for me. Yuengling is good going down. But it makes my head hurt fierce the next day

Drink more water. For every 2 beers one 16oz glass of water. Right before bed have another large glass of water. It will work wonders.

Agree fully.

That was the go to cheap ass beer for all of us going through training at Fort Sam.

Miller Lite is like drinking your water too. Thus the elegance..

+1000

But I have to complain some. Back when it was just "Ranger" is was far more skunky/intense than now. I think they reduced the amount of hops or something. Still it is the mark against which I measure IPA.

That is an exaggeration.
I would say merely that I am more interested in fine shooting rifles than the average man.
I do not go in for collecting guns.
I never buy a gun unless I really need it.
As a matter of fact, I really only need about a dozen, or possibly fourteen, more guns than I have now.
