Thumbs up Original Belgian Army FN FAL's M1-M2-M3 family pictures

Hi folks,
I scored my first original FN FAL M2 with ABL stamps.

I did a Dutch Army family picture some years ago, i'm happy to see it popping up all over the internet
So, here are my Belgian Army friends. Still trying to score a FALO HB, one day...

The M1 didactical

The M1 sniper

The new M2 sniper

And my all time favorite M3 Para ABL

I'll make an additional thread about the M2 with all the details for the clonebuilders and collectors.

Here are the Dutch FAL's, yep, mint condition!

Do you have much experience with paras in other configurations?

Do you like the folding Charging Handle that's available on some?

How about the 2-position rear sight compared with the Dutch-style rear?

Great photos, as usual!

Hi,
Many questions,

A) Yes, i got several para's in my collection.
B) No, i don't like folding knobs. If you need to use a charginghandle, you are in a hurry. No need for extra handlings to unlock. i'm a paratrooper. unlike regular oldiers and conscripts, most para commando's are trained an disciplined to keep both hands on there rifle on the ready. so, no issue with webbing locked in the cockinghandle.
C) The belgian M3 sights are fixed. Anything further as 250m is hard to see/spot.
Since all para commando's are well trained (you can only be a para on a voluntary base) we know to hold over on targets over 250m.
The Dutch sights have also a smaller diameter peepsight as we have.

There is also a M3 sniper version. Will post some pics soon. A buddy nearby has one original M3 ABL sniper.
The only thing i hate is the position of the sling attachment under the sigths. It seems to hit my nose everytime. It also tend to get stuck between the breakinglever.
All there rest is A+

Castle Keep

Paco, you are the stuff of legend. I have this image you are some well heeled batchelor that lives alone in a castle somewhere in the Ardennes.

Would not suprise me if you had quad 50 calibers with tombstone drums perched on a castle turret..

Some time ago, I complimented a man from Switzerland for his nation and their rifle marksmanship readiness. He admitted to me he had over 850 M1 Garands in his personal collection.

First, i'm not rich, not at all. I was an Offr, now a teacher...
I don't live in the Ardennes (they speak French) but in Flanders (not Flanders fields)
No .50 meatchopper on my guardtowers, but my buddy 4 miles from here has one in fully working order. Mounted on a halftrack. That's an impressive tool.

No 850 M1's, just 2...

My goal is to end 2019 with 30 different FAL's.

Oh, so you do have a guard tower. How did America go astray where our Officers and Teacber's don't live in Castles. Yet in Europe the common people dwell in spendor!

BTW, the man I met who owns some 850 Garands stated that he was a Chef by profession.

Hello paco.
You never cease to amaze!
These sized pictures are much more user friendly, so thanks.
I remember your Dutch threads and photos, and this family is awfully nice, too.
Thanks for posting and adding to our enjoyment around here.

And we look forward to enjoying them, at least vicariously in photos...

Beautiful rifles, as always...
