Belgian FAL with Dutch scope

My first FAL with the Dutch AI 62 scope. I'm happy took a while to find a good metric FAL (and the scope).

Not FALs but they do have wood! And I'm a sucker for an 870 Wingmaster.

Top one is an 870 Wingmaster that I've had since I got it new when I was 12. Blued finish w/ straight comb trap stock and 28" mod barrel.

The lower one is an ex-LE 870 Wingmaster I bought from 308shooter here on the Files. I was amazed at how nice the parked metal finish was once I cleaned it up. It has a nice 26" Remchoke barrel and I added some nice late 70's vintage walnut to dress it up.

The last one is another 870 Wingmaster from 308shooter. This one has a 30" FC barrel and has an awesome even patina. The walnut furniture is pretty worn out so I was going to refinish the whole thing. But the patina is so cool I think I'm going to pick up a vintage stock for it that might compliment the well used look of this one. We'll see.

2 FAL's at home, one has wood!

From day to day, my ability to post pix is granted by some deity unknown, hence the link:

Not my best photography, but will do for now.

Many thanks for the kudos!

Maple would be cool, tho.

milled MAK-90 import

Dunno why I haven't posted this before. IWD Euro beech Type-56 cut stock and lower HG.

Did a light 'gunstock' stain, immediately wiped off, and applied 'jacobean' stain. Let dry for a bit, then took hot water, nylon brush, and degreaser to it to 'rough up' the smooth grain to approximate mil issue texture. Then, another jacobean application; the scrub/bath it got also allowed this final staining to appear a little more natural. The softer think grain lines absorbed more of the light stain, so that's why you see such a striking differential. I had to do a bit of grain-blending which was a bastard, but once done, I was able to lay a few coats of satin poly down. The result is what you see.

Love it or hate it, yes it's got an Ulti-MAK and a Magpul grip, but it's functional and I refuse to desecrate a true Chinese furniture set to get it to fit the slant-cut receiver, even on an arsenal MAK. For an AK variant that can hit the 300 yd steel with little effort, I think it's a winner.

Just some Ironwood Designs walnut finished with Tru-Oil on a basic DSA.

ETA: Hardwear for the stock (ferrule, butt plate, sling swivel, screws) were purchased from Airzona Response Systems.

The FAL is not a "platform".
It is a lady-lookin' foreign made collection of sexy Belgian curves that intimidates the shit out of today's Pajama-boy males.
