Fall Shoot Grub Thread

Alright ladies and gents, the September 20-22 Fall FAL extravaganza is quickly approaching. After a meeting of the “Committee” we are going to do a little meal time house keeping. In the past we’ve had some excellent meals provided and prepared by some very generous folks. We wish to continue this as well as say thanks. This year we would like to ask anyone who wishes to join in on evening meals to bring a dish to share and come enjoy. The main meals will be Friday and Saturday evening. Currently one of the nights will be a prime rib dinner the other is in the planning as to a main course. If any preparation or heating accommodations are needed let me know and we’ll get it taken care of. Our very own 12v71, Coffee Vixen, Elkaholic, The Boyle’s, 4x401, the Brush511 family, and many others have always made sure everyone has what they need, we’d like to thank them all. As always, folks are more than welcome to do their own thing for meals, potluck participation isn’t a requirement, but we’d love to see you there.

I'm not sure at this point if I can be there or not ... , but If I can attend
maybe ( some input would help ) oven baked potatoes wraped in tin foil
and butter , I would bake them at home then they could be re-heated on
the BBQ ? say 30 more or less spuds , they are great the next day fried
up with eggs as well

Before everybody goes crazy and we end up with a huge pile of leftovers, we should get a head count and some input from attendees. The frigerator in the Cruise Monster is only so big.

I will get an attendance thread going soon.

I’ll be bringing an empty extra cooler or two with ice to help with storage

We are more than happy to make breakfast Saturday morning again with the wok thing. We can add lots of different things in with the eggs, have done that in the past. And we are going to bring our aebelskiver pan and learn and work along side the master for Sunday.

Tuscan, can I ask for some form of breadsticks (pizza dough) that can be cooked on bbq or?

Don’t think I can grab dough. Plus it would rise too much.

We have an oven in the Cruise Monster that holds a standard aluminum roasting pan.

So what can one bring who is culinary challenged? More than happy to bring paper plates, disposable flatware, shredded cheese, tortillas, King’s Hawaiian Rolls, whatever is needed.

And 'tater salad.

Attendance thread has us at 25 so far. CV is trying to decide which ribs we are doing for Friday evening. And Milsurpmonkey is bringing the prime rib for Saturday.
So, a few side dishes would be good. I see we already have some volunteers above.

Had a good crop of apples this season, if we're lucky I'll bring home made apple pies. I won't make any promises though, I really have no idea what the girls plan to make.

I'm kinda kicking back and watching. I'll let others decide what they are going to do, I'll fill in the gaps at the end and cook the redheaded step child's prime rib

I did some research. I now know the difference between (C) and (F) on the thermometer

So.....its obvious you don't understand the meaning of "Commitment"...
Either your bringing desert to feed close to 40 people, or not....yes, or no...or show up empty handed again and expext to be fed...

Well, I won't commit my girls to doing anything they don't want to do. So I'll just bow out of this thread.

What if the Mystery Babalon described in Revelation, which is destroyed by the nations of the North, is actually America?

The biggest problem with religion is those who claim to know Jesus, then turn around and deny Him with their lifestyle. That is what a unbelieving world, simply finds unbelievable.

Before you die, you should have a will with extra copies. The old saying "No one will screw you faster than family" is bloody well true.

Women are dangerous. All warm, soft and cuddly on the outside, and berserker, Ragnarok crazy upstairs in the control room.

I didn't make any promises or commitments Rich. And each year I've either given cash to Rob or brought dessert and spirits for Dawn, sometimes even done both. So I never come to the shoots "empty handed". At this point, I'm not sure if you're just mucking about or serious.

I wasn't there last time. Only going by what I was told.

So I guess the truth is muck....and yes, I'm serious.

Ok, whomever said I owe them money from the April shoot, whether for myself or Omeg762, PM me and I'll ensure you get paid strait away. It's been four bloody months and this is the first I've heard of it.

I don’t think this is about anything monetary, it’s just if anyone wants fed, they need to contribute. Simple, easy, fair. That’s why this thread is here, letting folks know we are holding a potluck on Friday and Saturday night, bring a dish to share, enjoy food and good company. Takes some of the burden off of people who in the past have thrown down to go above and beyond.
