AK pistol

been looking hard at the AK pistols to have some fun with...Down to 3, comments with experience absolutely welcome, comments with no experience, what teh hell, bring em..

first choice
Arsenal SAM7K

next two are slight less expensive
Draco and Npap M92

ive shot the draco and thought it was pretty nice, but not as "clean" as the Arsenal. Never handled the M92. Gonna put a "brace" on it, unless i really like it, then SBR. Thoughts?

Got a Draco and built two others that are similar. One started as a Romy G kit and the other is a short Hungarian that I did not want to build as a blind pinned rifle.

I like these fine as they all have chrome lined barrels which I consider a must.

That is why I didn't even look at the NPAP as Yugo guns do NOT have chrome lined barrels.

Have a PAP M92 Serbian. They're ok but the novelty wore off quick. I may put a brace on it. It pretty much made me realize that rifles turned into pistols are meh.

built several AMD65 kits as pistols before brace thinking. wish that i still had them. lately it's the 9mm shorty PAK9, with a folding brace,

but there is a 10.5" 9mm pistol soon to be available as RAK9

also an NAK 9, with 10.5" bbl out there already.

The next time I hear "THE RANGE IS NOW HOT", it just wont be the same.

Max tried another question. "What sort of people live about here?"
"In THAT direction," the Jin said, waving its right paw round, "lives a Han: And in THAT direction," waving the other paw, "lives a Ming Hare. Visit either you like: they're both mad."
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Max remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Jin: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Max.
"You must be," said the Jin, "or you wouldn't have come here."

PSA as a headsup is making a very cool AK pistol right now in 9mm that takes CZ mags and has the SB3 brace from the start ..

As to your choice couple notes :

1. The Bulgrian AK pistol I want to say are no longer made esp in 223 ..Just did not sell enough ..Cool guns but they are milled so heavy and need different part set for handguards etc
2. The Draco are a great choice ..Just make sure is is not USA made they are making USA made ones that are very very very bad ..It is just a chopped down Euro AK so most any parts will work
3. Yugo guns cool and have that cool hinged top but remember weird thread pitch

Also look for the early Draco C model with the rear trunion that is originally for an under folder stock. A lot easier if you decide you want to sbr it.

I have been hot and cold on buying/building an AK Pistol for years. I have enough bits, kits and parts to build one or twelve just have not gotten a-round-tuit. Recently the Polish Hellpup has gotten my attention. They may have gotten better than the early ones from what I read and it is the barrel length I would want. The price (<$500) is OK enough. Or, I could just shoot one of my two AR pistols and be done with it.
