Cost to Re-barrel vs New Chamber and Re-bore?

I am thinking of doing a custom AR. I have a .556 barrel that I could re-bore it to 7.62x39 - any idea of the cost? I could find a 7.62x39 blank and have it re-profiled. Cost on that?

And no, no one makes the barrel I am looking for... Estimates and ideas appreciated!

Have you contacted Pac-Nor regarding a custom contour ?

If you look long enough you will find 7.62x39 AR barrels for $60-80. Is there anything custom on the barrel itself besides caliber?

I think I know what he's looking for. If he's like me he doesn't want a 7.62x39 barrel with a thick profile - a pencil profile would be better. I haven't found a decent profile .30 cal barrel for an AR15 to-date.

Probably cheaper to buy a 30 cal barrel and reprofile. O have worked with mcgowan in the past for custom AR barrels.
