Thoughts on the CZ Bren 2?
It can be seen as the Czech SCAR, or an improved 805 Bren, or maybe even a Czech made, mostly aluminum G36.
I personally think that it's one of the cooler modern rifles out there. It's modular and it's Czech, and the Czechs rarely make junk. I think that it's a good value competitor to the HK416 and SCAR. |

Well,
The Bren 805 had problems and was a scandal in the Czech Republic, CZ does make quality stuff but they aint perfect. That said the Bren 2 in 308 if priced right and reliable will be a great rifle. Thorack

Yeah, I read on the AK Files that there's a conspiracy theory that the Czech Government had a bit of a nationalistic pride episode when they adopted the 805 over the FN SCAR as the 805 didn't exactly meet Czech Army requirements (that it be caliber convertible between 5.56 and 7.62x39mm), and wanted to buy something from CZ other than pistols.
But if you ask me, the Bren 2 is a serious improvement over the 805. Ought to be a serious contended against the SCAR and HK416, both of which I rate highly (and I'm not the only one it seems ![]() |

It’s like the girl that you know won’t look as good in the morning, but you take her home anyways. I’m excited!
