yds marked rear sites

Hello all, I just received a ton of parts in a trade and among them was a rear site marked in yds instaed of meters. I have read somewhere that these are "special" or at the very least not common. Can someone tell me if this is something that's worth putting in a special place or what rifle calls for this part. Thanks in advance for your input.

Used by FN on Irish contract FALs. Some of the earlier Rhodies are also rumored to have yard marked rear sights.

I'd be interested in a yard marked rear sight if you want to part with it.

A meter is 9% longer than a yard. If you square it, its 20% more. But a kilometer is only 62% of a mile. Bizarre indeed

I've got a couple with 1 badly worn. I was told they are SA. The good one is going on an Aussie L1A1. It's my fix for the annoying folding blade. An Izzie blade had the aperture welded and re-drilled 3mm higher. The sight picture looks like the Hythe but stays up, or more correctly erect.

I gave $150 trade-in value on mine, and it was complete.

Last time I saw one for sale was probably 6+ years ago by someone in the UK who had a stash of them and posted them here. Bought one for a T 48 clone I was building. Think I paid somewhere around $75 for the base alone.

Early South African contract FN's had sights marked in yards.

Special IF it's a metric YDS sight.
Pretty much all Inch sights are marked YDS.
