Does anyone here have woodworking skills?
Does anyone here have the skill and the tools to produce a wide hand guard for the G3/HK91/PTR91 made from wood?
This redering was produced by a member of another forum. I have always wanted a wide hand guard made from wood for this rifle. I could do this by hand, but i might be retired by the time I finished it and I do not have the requisite skills and power tools to either machine it via CNC or even a router to do it semi-manually. A ruler, a saw, a power drill, and a Dremel is about all I can muster. ![]()

Thank you. I have joined that forum and have a message out to him.
I will report back what happens if it comes to anything.

I would be interested in a set as well if you find anything out.
For those who know I have a question about the above photo. What is attached to the trigger I've never seen it before? Is it a trigger stop to stop the trigger right at the break?

The part is a trigger shoe and yes its for setting the trigger stop and is adjustable. It's used on the PSG1 trigger group which has a different style trigger than the G3 or 91. While not being a direct plug and play for the standard trigger, it can be modded to fit. It alone does nothing to enhance the trigger pull.

I have no idea if he has the time or interest or if the market is large enough to make it worthwhile for him, but you might reach out to flypaper.
He has the skills beyond a shadow of a doubt.

It's doable. Hard part is the hardware. In the absence of metal pieces to be used on the wood creation an intact plastic part would have to be a donor. And when people think of cutting up a perfectly good and functional wide HK forend they get squeamish. Find metal and The Man could probably be talked into it. For a price obviously.

I'm sure Blue Monster could do it but I think he is out of the business....

While you're at it, get a wood pistol grip
I bought a PTR some while ago, and put a wood butt and hand guard on it, then added an aftermarket wood pistol grip to it. I really like the effect.
