Mix plastic and wood?

Did the commonwealth countries ever mix wood with plastic stocks/ handguards?
How about plastic carry handles on otherwise wood L1A1s?

Yes. I have one, actually. When the wood became unserviceable, they would simply replace it. Bad buttstock, replace with Maranyl. Cracked carry handle, replace. I've seen many done this way.

More likely as a field expedient measure. Once sent back to ordnance they would replace all the wood furniture with plastic .

In Canada, FN C1A1 and FN C2A1 used only wood furniture. The only exception if for the carry handle which moved from wood carry handle to the plastic one when they were converted from C1/C2 to C1A1/C2A1.

What about wood buttstocks with plastic handguards or some other combination on the Australian rifles?

Australia never used anything besides wooden furniture. New Zealand had at least some rifles with British/domestic plastic furniture, but how much of it I don't know.
