Question Freeland Mid-Century Cuff Combination Value

I have a new Freeland Mid-Century Cuff Combination for a right hand shooter I purchased about 55 years ago and never used. I was thinking of selling it and was wondering if competitive shooters still use these.

I'm at a complete loss as to the purpose? What is it for and how is it used?

Yes, they are still in use today. I have one and us it occasionally when I shoot in the NRA style rifle matches. Just don't have the heavy leather shooting coat anymore.

Mike, they are used to be a quick connect for the rifle sling when shooting in NRA High Power Rifle matches. The hook connects to the sling when the shooter gets into position and then disconnects the sling when leaving the position. This allows the shooter to keep the same position and sling tension/pressure each time without having to re-adjust the sling each time. The Marine is showing sling use with the coat and the girl shows how the cuff replaces part of the sling for prone.
