Who brought the Maker's?
Apple pie has no expiration date that I know of, but this last batch was mistakenly made with "spiced cider" which gave it the cloudy color for the first time, so IDK. We do not refrigerate it until time to "eat" when it is better chilled

Yes, Blondzilla sent the salsa, her home-made recipe. It does not need to be refrigerated until opened, but I put it in my cooler so it got cold already, so again IDK.

On the Makers Mark, yes I do know that one Personally on the rare times I drink bourbon, I like Wild Turkey which I brought the last few years. I overheard you tell someone last year you did not really care for Wild Turkey, so apparently I can still learn new things if given enough direction

I think I have Louis' hoodie here, but no other lost and found and no messes I had to clean up today.

Jill will get me the scores so I can post them a bit later. Very slack house today.

The COF was pretty nasty. I liked it.

Yup, thatís my hoodie. I canít put into words the effect this match has had on me over the years and amazing friendships I have formed. Truly the finest company around.

Bruce and Jill, thank you again for your hospitality and putting up with me. Just an amazing time all around. I always leave with a head full of wisdom to process and reflect on. Cheers to all!

Thanks for posting the scoring - is there an explanation somewhere how the Action Phase scoring works?

Now that I have a baseline, I know what I need to improve on for next year....

EVERYTHING

The scoring for the Action stage is done on factor, that is, the 'best' shooter receives 300 points (which is theoretically the maximum score you could get on the target section) and then everyone else's score for the action stage is based on their percentage of the winner's score.

Your factor is your score divided by your time.

I hope that helps.

Not sure how to process this, but I will admit I was worried when we only had 14 shooters.

[stimp thinking] "Maybe this thing has run it's course. Maybe it is time to let this end." [stimp thinking]

But several emails/posts later I am...inspired...and we will continue.

I can try to convince one of my neighbors to come next year. They don't have FALs .. maybe I can convince them they really need to buy one because of the awesome factor.

Yes that helps, I figured it out.... but now my brain hurts

Shooter with the best Factor (Score divided by Time) receives a 300 Index value, then everyone else takes their own Factor and divides it by the best Factor, then multiplies that number by 300, to arrive at their Index index value.

Thanks !

Noooooooo. The last FAL match was only about 6 months ago and there are several other matches going on right around this time. Those are big contributors, I'd say.

Well, I thought I sucked at shooting because of getting too old and too fat. But today I got good news, I think, and I now have an alibi. I believe I told some of you guys at the match that I was having a problem with getting a good sight picture because of blurry spot in my eye. Went to the eye doctor first thing this morning and told her I was having issues with my vision. After a couple of hours and a bunch of tests later, I found out I have a medical condition with a very long name that basically means post cataract cataract. The membranes surrounding my artificial lenses have thickened causing them to get cloudy. So I have been scheduled for laser surgery tomorrow a.m. It is an in and out procedure so should be on the home in an hour or so.

I would have never discovered it normally, but the iron sight picture focued my vision enough to pick up the distortion. So shooting old rifles CAN be good for your health.

Stimpy, you can't stop the FAL match now! You still have one more 2nd place trophy to give out and it is dated 2020.

Anybody heard from Gun Dawg yet. He was heading into that area hit by tornadoes when he left the match. Just hoping he was okay.

I have a chicken suit I have worn to numerous Halloween parties. Never occurred to me to wear it to a match.

Fabricator, I still think we need to get some stormtrooper armor and go to the Halloween 3-gun with your Stirling and intentionally miss every target.

I have a buddy that has a couple of sets of Imperial Storm Trooper suits of armor. I might be able to borrow one if needed.

At the NC Vintage Two-Gun match, a shooter gets extra points and/or time knocked off for being dressed in period correct uniform.

I would suggest that anyone who shoots the RBGC FAL match in a chicken costume certainly deserves a few extra points as well

Just a thought
