2 days of carnage.

5 elk

2 antelope

3 deer

Plus we had another day of hunting at another elk spot with 4 more tags to fill. Only saw 2 elk (when we normally see hundreds). Did see lots of magpies, hawks, eagles, coyotes plus wolf tracks. Hopefully another great elk hunting locale isn't ruined by wolves.

Dude, you had thieves in the garage man, looks like they stole at least half of your chow judging by all the meat gone from the bones......

Seriously, some good hunting there. Thought Splat & I were busy with bagging 8 antelope in 2 days, looks like we were really amateurs compared to you & your buddy....!! Sure hope those 5 elk were close to the road, PITA just getting one cow to the truck when she's a little ways off.

How's the 'yote hunting? Seeing many? I'd be back on them gut piles if I had the chance.

BTW, you're a lucky dog!!!

Well done Dirt. Wish I had some of that elk for the coming winter. I gotta sustain the family on store bought beef. Not bad, but not what I prefer.

No but it's just a short way away. That square butte BLM has some great Mountain Goat hunting on it. It's just sucks walking al that way in to get to the base of it. Then those nasty spires are crazy.

Here's what a 180gr swift scirocco does @ 200 yds from a .300 RUM. Exit wound just behind shoulder, my fist fit in it. The bullet actually lodged into the armpit into the hide must have hit bone and skipped into there. Usually that .300 RUM punches through.

This is the biggest cow I've ever shot. The butcher weighed the 2 halves @ 332. That's skinned, gutted , no head and missing lower halves of legs. So close to 400 pds.

I found the bullet, I'll get a pic of it here shortly.

The swift's aren't usually that bad, remember the bullet didn't pass through the skin on the opposite side and I didn't skin it until 3 days after.
