UE57 vs UB61 lower selector marks

Way beyond me why they are different, when one may have changed...etc. Leave it to the experts.

could it be as simple as the tooling being moved to a new location ?
simple changes over time with no other reason ?

Dunno. good question .

That's right. In fact, the Enfield is the earliest known kit from Enfield.

But at a later time, I believe the selector marks were homogenized. Anyone else can post photos which include the UE or UB, date, and selector marks?

So our short sample would indicate that Enfield lowers have the narrower selector marks, with BSA employing the wider "kindergarten" style.

That would indicate that Lithgow selector marks are closer to BSA's; of course, Lithgows detents are unique in that they are not oblong, but rectangular.

Note of course, that our sample only has dates of 57, 60, and 61. Anything later?

My BSA lower is a 58 (UB 58) and it has the narrower style selector print as seen on the Enfield.

I just bought UE 5746 today. I assume it's going to be the same as Abom's...but nothing wrong with gun porn. If you know how much I paid I'd be slaughtered...I'm gonna take pics in a moment

Nog, are you still looking for this stuff? I have a bunch of Brit kits and lowers, and I'm pretty sure I have one with a lower serial number than yours.

What's with the A1 strikeover on some of these? I have one that's marked UB 5? A1 then 4246, but the A1 is an apparently obvious overstrike.
