Blessed again in South Africa

Last weekend, I was invited to help with the culling of bleu wildebeest bulls from a herd that a friend is breeding with a golden wildebeest bull. This was a private farm (3,000 acres) and the bleu wildebeest bulls must go

This weekend (today) I was shooting jackals at another friend's farm (5,000 acres) which last week's rain here has driven out of their burrows and so they are out in the day time. Jackals in Africa are somewhat like coyotes in the US, pests and mostly nocturnal.

Other than the hunting of "pests", I saw eland, giraffe, hartebeest, kudu, impala, zebra, ostrich, and warthogs.

The highlight was a nice sable bull. I did put the cross-hairs on him, but he was not in the budget at the moment. Maybe next year

If anyone wants to hunt in South Africa, I highly recommend dinkwesafaris.com PM me if you want more info, They are great people and IMHO the best hunting lodge in South Africa!!!

Yes traveling for business and away on many weekends sux in many ways, but there are also many, many upsides as well which include meeting new friends and given new opportunities.

Life is good brothers.
