Wilsons big bore AR

so I get a email yesterday from Wilson touting their big bore

the .458 HAM'R

there was a link to this video below

looks like a nice toy if you have the coin to throw around

as per usual it appears to be entirely proprietary to wilson (act surprised)

Much ado about nothing. Stretch the .458 SOCOM by 4mm and add a couple hundred FPS. For the privilege of this, you have a single source of brass/ammo, a single source for repair parts, and an obnoxious price. What could go wrong?

Makes more sense to just buy an AR-10 in the caliber of your choice.

On the other hand, after just building a normal socom there aren't that many manufactures and there isn't as far as I can tell anyplace to get brass other than Hornady and Starline. Around here all mail order, wish I'd have seen this one before I got invested.

^^^^^^^^^Maybe so, but you don't need 1000 pieces of brass in SOCOM, you won't be firing 100 rounds a session, unless you are a recoil junky. That being said, I did buy 500 rounds from Starline.
