WTB: Original G Series FAL

Steve here... Looking for a nice original finish G series FAL...Some brass kisses ok. Let me know if you have one you would consider parting with... These rifles are C&R rated, and I will only consider rifles that will ship to (me) my C&R.
Thank you

It's been there awhile and at $15k will likely continue to sit. Keep an ear to the ground and eyes open OP...they sometimes hit GB in waves (like Poyer L1A1s at the moment).

Both G series rifles are early lightweight guns with the earlier non-rotating buttstock swivels.Steve do you happen to know for sure that G14XX was sold or if the auction just ran out of time with no bids?Mills41

I was also in contact with him. One of us should have thrown in a bid on GB. Sometimes active bidding will discourage a seller from pulling the add?

Beautiful rifle....

Once a bid is placed, you CAN'T pull the listing.

Up until then, it's free game anywhere. Always a risk you accept when you don't bid.

Bought a G series standard from Dave back in the early 90's so figured it wouldn't be out of place for him to have another to sell.

But the stock looks wrong, from memory the one I bought was a "C" type stock.

Be careful there. There's a huge price difference. The G series we're commonly referring to are the ones on the ATF sanction list by the serial numbers. It can be easily converted to full auto, if needed, albeit illegal. It carries a huge price premium.

The G1 in the US are either full auto dealer's sample, or built with surplus parts on a USA made semi-auto receiver, like the ones in DSA website link. There're also obvious physical differences between the two FALs.

The Misconception about G-Series G-1's

There was about a Hand Full of G-1 marked G-Series imported by Browning from 1959 to 1963 before ATFU as they were called back then. I know, I own one and it's a semi-auto marked Gew Kal 7.62mm FN, Serial Number is in the G23XX range. So much about the Myth about all Real G-1's being Pre-May dealer samples. I did change out the S.R.A marked lower for a NOS FN S.E.D lower.

I didn't know that. It won't change anything, thou. In order for a G series FAL to get a huge premium, its serial number has to be on the ATF sanction list.

And, let's not forget to look at the obvious physical differences between the G1 and G-series. You can't blindly go by the letters on the receiver.

You might be able to buy 2 or even 3 standard 50.00 with a budget of 8. I take 8 is $8,000.

You will find what you're looking for in time. Free bump.

Steve, be careful if you want a G-series with a steel lower. The G series being sold by the gentleman in Las Vegas was a "Lightweight" and had an alloy lower.
