Oklahoma Run N Gun Summer 2018

Run will be 7/14/2018.

Probably a little warmer than this past weekend. Probably same trail, different shooting stages, different obstacles. Ticks, chiggers, mosquitos, snakes, wasps....maybe even wild pigs to urge you along your way. Who's in?

I was thinking about this the other day...how miserable it was last July. Not just the RNG itself being 103 degrees, but the outdoor training it took to get there. I've never been so freaking hot in my whole life for so long. I wasn't sure I wanted to do that again.

But then I remembered I love things that suck

so yeah, I'll probably be down for this one. Pretty safe to say NOT the 20k version though.

Not doing the 20K in summer anymore. A couple of my friends about did themselves in that Friday.
I wish I could get my enemies to do that, I reckon I might chase'em that far and see who goes first.

Alright folks...
Been busy getting COF done, putting together RO list, etc....

Won't post or open tickets up just yet, but soon.

We'll be doing 5k, 10k, or 15k.

15k will start at south area, finish up at usual place, turn in 5k scorecard.

Fifteen min later, start 10k.

Finish or quit, turn in scorecard.

Get placed in 5k, 10k and in running for best 15k.

That is all for now.

Special challenge in July is surviving the road.

Probably do an AK challenge in January.

I’m in for 15k. Mel said the sewing circle was doing the 5k as juggernauts... im in for that too because I love dumb stuff.

At this point, how can you not go???

Most in the sewing circle have bump helmets and ceramic plates. I’m certain everyone would be happy to share. Between all of us, I’m sure we can find a size for about anyone.

At this point, it's more a question of "time budget" than "money budget". I'm a simple hobbyist shooter who loves his friends and would love nothing more than to run off to Oklahoma for yet another tryst with misery, pain, and personal growth with some of the best people I've met so far in this life.

But I also have commitments to my wife, my daughter, and unfortunately - my day job. I owe all of them (in that order) a little more time than I've been giving them lately, and it's time to pay up. For the record, all three of them have been great and never once complained about all the time and money I've spent shooting. But if I see it, I KNOW they see it. And it's time to keep it in check before it gets way off course.

So you guys have fun and know I'm thinking of you and wishing I were there. But I'm also wishing I were here. It's a hard balance to strike.

Btw, road kicked my ass today. Under 3 hours tho...way tuffer than track n bleachers but it was after 20 miles on stationary bike. Gonna hit track with the rubber band things tomorrow.

We sold out of the 15K tickets really fast. So - we took 10 tickets off sale for Saturday, and opened 10 slots for 15K runners that want to embrace the suck on FRIDAY.
