BM59 Alpini Stock

A question for the BM59 cognoscenti among us. I have been eyeballing the BM59 that Classic is offering. Will this type fit into a BM59 Alpini stock?

Looks like classic is out of stock on all but the standard barrel length model.

Fit I think yes; correct barel length for the Alpini model no. Only fit issues would be if the trigger group had the "ringed" rear housing. The PG in the Alpini/para configuration interferes with the fit of the ringed trigger group.

Edited to add:

I may be incorrect that the barrel length on the standard being longer than the barel on the Alpini model. Definitely longer than a para barrel.

For all things BM59 try Shuffs Battle Tested forum. Sub-forum there specifically for this variant.

Yeah, the Alpini barrel is the same length as the ITAL. The Paracadutisti barrel is 0.92" shorter to minimize length while the para tricomp is detached. It does not extend more than about a half inch from the end of the gas cylinder lock. The older Mk Is and similar rifles, and the early ones that look like Tanker Garands (actual Berettas, not the later copies made by Golden State et al.) use an even shorter barrel.

I checked out the Classic add and saw that their rifle has the winter trigger installed.

While the folding stock will fit, it takes a different style winter trigger to conform to the pistol grip.

Solution is either remove the winter trigger or replace it with the proper winter trigger available from Standard Parts, LLC. (Your source for most things BM related).

Probably, but it's a cast aftermarket receiver with a lot of bad reports. You're better off getting a kit from Numrich, a barrel from Sarco, a GI Garand receiver from where ever, and sending it to Shuff with a check for $600.

I'm not sure the barrel is that much of an issue, as the Para muzzle devices are rare as hen's teeth and essentially unobtainium nowadays.

Agreed! Full disclosure, I'm a moderator there.

Looks neat but wire stock is not the most comfortable to shoot
Couldn't imagine them firing full auto
Shuffs did my build years ago before they became popular and parts easy and cheap to find

Not only does the winter trigger need to be changed but also the trigger it self is different. I have heard that some guy from Italy is selling alpine/para winter triggers on fleabay abut alpine/para triggers are hard to come by. Both will be marked TA.

MY BAD! Here is a trigger https://www.ebay.com/itm/TRIGGER-BM5...frcectupt=true

My standard rifle kit, non-folder (non-alpini) came with the long, folder trigger. So if you're going with a kit build, check your trigger for said markings before ordering the correct trigger. And NO, my trigger taint fer sale!
