New to me: M1A NM 1995

Recently got my M1A NM purchased from a member on another forum. It's a 1995 build from Glen Nelson's shop. 5 line receiver, win bolt/hammer, HRA trigger housing and op-rod. Gas system glued and screwed.

Been to the range once and put a box of PPU 168gr match through her. Took me 10+ rounds to zero at 100 yards with the irons but the last 7 shots easily found the 3" center (using the 3" orange helps me find center of target with my old eyes). Will be mounting optics in the future to see what the rifle is capable of. So far, so good.

Thanks. I'll be sure to bring her for the 18th at Antelope.

Safe travels bud.

Nice score Eyeguy! Those 5 line Springfields are sweet and this one built by one of the masters!

Nice rifle you have there. It's a sister to my 1986 N.M. which is capable of far better accuracy than I am.

Very nice, I love the M14 [M1A]
However I don't think I'll ever buy another Springfield, the last one I had gave me a problem with double & triple taps, sent the trigger group back to SA [after a little bit of a fight] & when it got back to me it wouldn't fire surplus ammo any more. I sold that one for a loss, told the new owner the story & he didn't mind as he was a reloader & wasn't planning on shooting any surplus out of it.
Recently I bought a really nice M14 clone built on a Bula receiver, guy I bought it from said it has a 1972 SA non chrome lined national match barrel with only .05 throat erosion, it's in a mint Sachs and son wood stock & has the correct ATF approved sparrow hawk dummy selector to fill void in stock.
I paid $1350 for it & am extremely pleased with it. I can't wait to get it to the range.
About 2 weeks prior to buying that one I bought the JRA M14 from classic firearms & that one is also a sweet rifle. I'm gonna do a side by side comparison when the weather gets nicer.

Thank you Sir. At this point I'm hoping to keep this addiction at a lower level than experienced with the FAL. There's an 85' Glen Nelson stead on another site right now. Fortunately it well outta my budget list for twice what I paid for mine. Oh the temptation.

Congrats on the Bula acquisitions. From all I've read you should be well pleased. Been very tempted with the JRA/Bula Classic is selling; buddy just put one in a Sage EBR and it makes a fine looking weapon.

I'm working a trade on a LRB with mostly USGI parts. I keep tlling myself, if that comes together it will be my last. Ha!
