An 83 year old man....

http://www.wzzm13.com/news/local/mic...wner/431801724

A while back I ate at his establishment and met him. Seemed like a nice guy.

The Trooper involved says he only used the force that was necessary. The Trooper looks extremely fit and Larry Sevenski...a frail 83 year old man.
.
The State Police claim their Troopers Dashcam "Malfunctioned".

What do you think this adds up to?

To me I think it will result in an acquittal of the 83 year old man, and a Major Lawsuit against the Trooper, The State Police and the State of Michigan.

The Cops are often afraid of lawsuits and use it as a justification for the actions they take and what they do to "protect themselves" from lawsuit. Just how much of a threat is an 83 year old man for a couple of Troopers. in a rural area looking for a little excitement and an excuse to put someone in jail.

The part i do not understand is why the camera took a crap. Chicago cops are well know for turning off camera. A lot of dash camera have put cops in jail. Why no body camera. I think every honest cop would wear a body camera. Picture are worth a 1000 words.

I don't have ALL the facts, and I don't have a dog in this fight, but in reading the article provided in the link it sure smells like a cover up to me...

It's a young policeman who staked out a bar on a drinking holiday and forgot to exercise restraint on a old man. Nothing to see here, move along...

DA cannot take this loser-dog case to trial..............charges will be about dismissed, and County will pay some damages.

Article states that State Police say the camera starts recording when the lights come on? Baloney. Camera records 100% of the time. Never shuts off, except for repair or replacement. The only reason to make the claim of "malfunction" is the cop's story doesn't match the recording, which they do have. And it looks bad for the State Police. They're going to try to float this only on the trooper's word. In the old days that would have flown. Not today, with a functioning dash camera. And why isn't there a back-up dashcam? Or bodycam footage?
