NATO

Trump slapped Germany around a bit. Loved where he pointed out the former prime minister's ownership in the Russian pipeline. I guess Germany is going to let Poland and Latvia protect them.

Poland is a good buffer between Germany and the USSR, I mean Russia. They should make an agreement not to invade from either side.

Since when did Russia invade anyone?

Germany can either be the Neocon's puppet, spend more on 'defense' and pay the high cost of US exported NG or get along with Russia and be supplied with cheap energy.

Way past time for Germany to tell the US to bugger off and get off their soil.

Subjugate! Resistance is Puerile - attack!

Some will say the Afghan conflict was an invasion - it wasn't, they were asked by the communists elect. Crimea also wasn't, the locals had a referendum to decide, the rest is hrc and soros! The Russian - Georgian conflict was more of a 'school teacher' breaking up a school yard bullying episode, than an invasion - prior to that, the Germans, the French, The Brits... and numerous others have invaded Russian space, and failed! One must consider that Siberia is, to this day, largely unexplored - and abundant beyond belief in minerals and energies! Invade, they - the Russians, are the villains - they have what is ours! - source; zionistbankers.com -

Might ask 'em how that worked out for them last time they did that.

What do we want in Canada? Game of risk and take both north and south. Do we even care anymore except for the northern muzzies?

Know why Canada is like Chile? 3100 miles long and 50 miles wide. Arguably the most lopsided border town in the world. Pisses 'em off when ya tell 'em ya grew up thinking it was a suburb of Buffalo.

Strange

Trump has to be aware that NATO is a fractured alliance and marginally relevant.
Trump has to be aware that the European Union started its own military about 12 years ago due to the decay of NATO alliances
Trump has to be aware that the European Union is overloaded with debt and is developing fractures in its alliances

Right now, everything is about Syria. Why would Trump cause a stir in a dying organization like NATO? Why would he throw a wrench in the gears of the EU when he knows it's dying as well? And why would he do this just before meeting Putin?

Or the Crimea. Or Poland. Or Hungary. Or the Czechs. Or the Latvians, Lithuanians or Estonians. Or the Finns. For the record I kinda like the Russkies, we ought to be friends. But I have no idea where knucklehead gets the idea they haven't invaded anyone. It's kinda what they do.

Crimea - Alsace-Lorraine, same thing that must not be tolerated... there're the starting points of something larger.

Dunno, I thought though what he said was one hell of a tactical ploy. Everyone raising hell about him telling that wench why are we spending money to protect you from your largest energy source. He's playing with the German version of canckles The logic was impeccable and irrefutable. She's getting called out for her socialistic crap and double talk.

Germany can tell us to get out at anytime. That ole Trump just tells it like it is.

ETA. Germany likes to push it’s weight around in the EU
Then whines when they get a little sauce on the gander

Nah, an invasion wasn't necessary.
Just give the pro Russian Ukes some weapons and a little 'help' and they were able to easily fend off our recently purchased neo Nazi govt full of corrupt incompetents.

Well,

The Russians were reinforcing the ethnic Russians in Ukraine with massive amounts of artillery. I was involved in helping send older counter battery Artillery Radars to Ukraine. Russians used tiered waves of UAVs to recon and confirm Ukrainian conscript Brigades which were suffering 70% casualties.

Makes one wonder doesn't it?

Germany and Europe need energy and resources, for the most part theirs is long gone.
Russia has an abundance.
They can either get along with Russia, like they have been more or less doing or hitch their overloaded debt wagon to the US warmonger industry and our massively overloaded debt wagon and have to buy expensive resources elsewhere, spend even more on defense, leading to more debt and eventually the day of reckoning.

I am thinking Italy will be the catalyst for Europe dumping the US and cooperating with Russia.
Italy is already putting the nix Mutti's African immigration bonanza, plans to start a dual currency and wants to end Russian sanctions over fake assassination plots.

First, I think he's setting the stage for negotiations over there.

Second, I think trump is going to have new blast every few days that will be irrefutable but make libs heads explode and cause them to defend some clearly stupid idea. Trump is just getting them to commit to easily discerned stupidity with hopes of winning more in the fall elections. I also think he'll step up the tempo of his attack as we get closer to November. He wants to get the dems/libs into a fever pitch and overplaying their weak hands as much as possible to illustrate to Americans what kind of fools they are.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if he abandons Cavanaugh by end of August.

The big fear is that Europe 'bonds' with Russia, let alone China, India.....,- Unification of the Planet's largest land mass, and trade sphere - the various 'Silk Roads' ( Ass passes) - well whose big fears is it? - That fear is of a huge downsizing potential, and a loss of 'power', for those that have had it for so long - financial dominance! Russia's threat, is it's potential, as it was with Germany, before WW2.
. Russia has stated that it will always counter the US's/West's 'antics' around the World - as a means of balancing things(and making a buck), China also but without formal declaration! But since Perestroika, Russia really has been pretty benign, and only intervening when appropriate, or when asked - not of the frequency, or inclination that our agencies seem to, or engineer !

Russia never invaded anyone?

They've been involved in a war with just about all of their neighbors in the past 100 years. Surprised no one has mentioned the Winter War yet. Just finished reading a new great book on that written by a few Finns. Russia owes Finland quite a lot.

Trump is setting the stage for negotiations but what kind of negotiations? If it's for negotiations with Putin, why weaken NATO and the EU? Trump would never weaken his own hand if he wants to weaken Putin.

Putin knows NATO is broken and the EU is getting weaker. He also knows someone like Trump could get them together for one last jab at Russia. If anything, Trump is helping Putin. Why help Putin with Europe yet go against him in Syria?

Strange days indeed

a couple of days pass and alles clar. essentially, nothing happened. I was wrong. looking back at everything so far... trump is just going to bigmouth and pose. fug that redheaded draft dodger, I'm done with him. i don't think he has it in him to make a tough decision and make it stick. I hope somebody else runs that will do something. if this is winning, buy more ammo, rations, medical supplies, silver and sandbags. He likes being president more than actually doing something for americans.

Well certainly any govt our CIA installs is so.

But the Swiss govt is very well run, with a high std of living and #5 on the good end of the Corruption Perceptions Index.
Might have something to do with having a educated citizenry, vs a nation of gullible warmongers who willing accept that their leadership lies.

The swiss government ain't corrupt haha. Or at least almost haha. Friend, the swiss government enables all the rest of 'em to BE corrupt. They are the kings of the corrupters so to speak. Between their lax laws regarding NGO and legalized shielding of ill-gotten gains from the rest of the planet the swiss make most of the rest of the world look like pikers when it comes to government corruption. Although I should not laugh too hard it's apparent that you actually believe this horsecrap you're spewing.

Why is it everyone ignores that the disputed part of the Ukraine was never historically part of it

Seem to recall it was not until the 50s that Crimea was added to the Ukraine under the Soviets...yes, ethnically they are not Ukrainians, actually Russians
Two different cultures
that's what most of this is about

Happened post Great War in Poland when England stole a big chunk of Prussia to create the Danzig Corridor. Ethnic Germans transformed into Polocks with a stroke of the proverbial pen. We know how that ended up

This was what the English did
Soviets did it a bit too

Sorry, that is the facts. The Swiss govt is very low on the corruption scale.

But that is typical of you, when confronted with the facts you ignore and ridicule.
Yeah, I have noticed.

Because we ousted the Ukie govt fair and square, installed our puppets and promptly fastened them to the US taxpayer's teat.

So dammit we want the whole thing!

I only ridicule that which is ridiculous. Does seem to clump up in certain specific areas though. Thought you hit the high water mark with the 'Russia never invades anyone' comment but I gotta admit this latest canard is right up there with the best of 'em.

The world according to Bubba. If the facts don't fit the desired belief just pretend that words like corruption can be redefined to match the belief and all opinions from experts (on the subject like public corruption and Transparency International) can be ignored.

Yeah the USSR, the one with Stalin and the Red Army.
Long gone but apparently still causing fear and hysteria.

Well he must have a yearning of some sorts because you are about the only one he talks to. Heck you trounce him at every turn and he runs right back to you.

So on topic, we fought two world wars and spent how much money on Europe, why should we sacrifice any more blood and treasure on them?

Well to be honest it was only one world war with a 20 year pause. And we did it for the banksters, or at least that's how it started. But no, we should not expend any more blood or treasure on their behalf. If, or more accurately when the time comes we need to expend it on our behalf.

I think we would have done a better deal if we matched their contributions after they paid up. Waiting for them to pay has been really dumb, we screwed the pooch on this. Thank God Trump is working on it.
