Best of luck, I hope your home is not directly threatened. I used to live nearby, I went to University at Chico State.

Yikes! Does Chico still have those firefighting planes, or have they gone by the way? Stay safe matey, stay safe.

If the fire shifts don't try to be a hero. Get yer' ass out of the way. And don't wait to the last minute.

You be safe.

Yes they are based out of Chico airport.

Mostly big planes maintained by aero union or at least we're at one time.

The base is called calfire air operations from memory where they fill with water and a red chemical I've seen them drop.

Thanks Mr Haney I know when I'm licked..

I have 20K gallons of water for such times as these and the locals know it's here and have used it in the past, my place isn't gonna burn..

Geez, I thought it was a BLM demonstration.

Don't chance it. Fire spreads real fast.

Load up the FALs, ammo, mags .... oh yeah, and family and pets and bug out.

Best of luck, I hope you and yours stay safe. I probably don't need to tell you, but plan for some road closures and keep your pantry stocked just in case getting around becomes difficult.

Does the fire not recognize you are a sovereign citizen and practice self-ownership? Does the fire not realize coming on your land is trespassing and in violation of the Natural Law?

Just shittin' ya. Winds shift quickly. Be smart. Be careful.

Pack up the irreplaceables this minute. Leave the rest for the insurance company.

I wish I'd had this much notice before my house caught fire. I lost whole collections of stuff I can't get back--and money is a sorry substitute. Couches are easy to replace.

This is the area where it started just a little west of the center of this photo.

There was a house at the top of that hill and one just south of the hill and they both were 100 % destroyed.

The water I have stored was used but our land wasn't in the path of the fire and hence wasn't touched.

But the water I stored did save several homes in the area.

25000 gallons of water is a good thing to have.

I took these photos around 6pm tonight.

ETA: to see what these houses looked like before the fire have a look in Google maps and point to the end of pioneer trail Paradise CA 95969.

The house at the top of the hill had been there since 1977.

Here we go again...

Don't know what they are calling this fire but have seen the huge sycorski sky crane water dropping chopper passing overhead.

Mandatory (lol) evacuation orders are in effect...

No I didn't leave...Wife and son and her dog did but I am still here.

Yes I'm packed and ready but there is no fire close so no bloody need at the moment.

I'm good for the moment pumping well water into the tank up on the hill.

Don't know if they need it but it will be there if they do.

20K gallons of mineral laced water.

it leaves marks where it runs over on the side of the big tank.

Talk about hard water, damn.

Yes truck is working water is pumping, I even found a needle in the haystack...

A 4L80E with a late model (last issue) 1991 NP205 transfer case with the one year adapter between the two and a VSS speedo housing for the speed sensor.

all for the insane price of 2000.00...

With that the pump at one time in the future can be pto driven if I get that insane.

Sure I'll need to "SAS" (or convert to a Ford transfer case) the 07 Silverado classic I could also run a hydraulic winch if I wanted to as well.

It's like every other year since the "Poe Fire" in 2001 we were under mandatory evacuation ( I didn't go this time )...

Made good use of my time here though.

Thanks for your prayers and good wishes everyone...

Be safe.

A buddy of mine is flying left seat on one of the Erickson MD80s on the fire. They have multiple air attack bases fighting this one. They have even been calling in the 747 Global Tanker in on this one.

BTW Aero Union is loooong gone as a company.

Have a few friends on the ground from So Oregon there as well.

Lots of resources working on this one. Hopefully they get a handle on this soon!

"Mandatory" evacuation have been lifted..

Wife, Son, Wife's dog left yesterday when they (cdf/bcf) made the suggestion to leave but I stayed as there really was no immediate threat, But was packed and ready at a moments notice to leave.
