Ohio's definition of "automatic" is the following would be why.

“Automatic firearm” means any firearm designed or specially adapted to fire a succession of cartridges with a single function of the trigger. “Automatic firearm” also means any semi-automatic firearm designed or specially adapted to fire more than thirty-one cartridges without reloading, other than a firearm chambering only .22 caliber short, long, or long-rifle cartridges.

I am assuming that you are purchasing a complete semi-auto shrike.

Most people will give up freedoms for the perception of safety until they are no longer free or safe.

The 30-round limitation on magazine capacity has been deleted. Prior Ohio law indicated any firearm with more than 30 rounds in it was considered to be an “automatic weapon”.
I believe a number of dealers haven't been updated on this and if you live in Cincy proper, the leftist tards that run that shithole enacted their own magazine capacity ban and some places, like Midway USA, weren't aware that it died as state preemption killed it.
