Well,

My wife loves Salzburg and I really like Vienna so we toured Austria quite a bit when I was stationed in Germany. A common Tshirt sold for tourists was "There are NO Kangaroos in Austria". The shirts were printed in English.

Agree. I like the older ones like after they are past menepause. Always thought that shit in the trashcan the dog was eating was gross when I had to pull the string out of his mouth to get out of his belly. Yuck. Plus we have a septic tank.

That's not the only problem....the can says it's 200 rounds, but the ad says 300? Then look at the pics posted by the buyer. The stuff's wrapped in some sort of what looks like green paper wrapped in masking tape with hand lettering all over it. The brass also looks dark as hell. Did someone at Classic repackage this stuff from bulk? I have those exact same cans of ammo on my shelf but the rounds are on clips packed in bandoliers. Something about this deal is fishy.

Isn't there an online gun store who is known to take one magazine off a imported pistol package that comes with two magazines and sell it separately?

Yes. Iím trying to remember. Bought a yugo PAP new and only had one mag. They had the ones they took out for sale. Southern Ohio ? Also bought it on the weekend online during a scare and they wouldnít accept the price on Monday. Thatís back when I was a mere sperm in the gun thing.

Let's get this thread back on topic. Anyone else bought any. Buddy and I both bought and opened at the range today. 50% show light to heavy corrosion on the brass. No pink discoloration. Maybe rbgonoles can post the pics he took today.

I opened all 480 rounds.Representative of every box. Some were worse. I pull 12 rounds out of 480 free of corrosion.

Seems pretty commonplace with ammo packaged in paper boxes. Iíd shoot it like a fat kid eating a box of donuts.

I think I have about 8 battle packs of this at a minimum. Of the several others I have shot up, 1975 and 1976 ammo, it's been perfect. I've even reloaded the brass as well.

I am of two minds, leave the rest as is or remove all the packaging and repackage in ammo cans with no paper boxes.

I can remember buying a half metric ton of Port at 10 cents per round FTF in parking lot of gunshow. Guy had a pallet sitting over axle of a 3/4 ton truck and could not take inside as didn't have a table and walking a 50,000 round pallet around a gun show would have been problematic so he was selling it in 20 round boxes to 200 round sealed battle packs. Had $1,000 cash in pocket as learned if take more in a fun show can leave with buyers regret and if not enough to close a deal a thousand bucks in vendors hand will usually hold an item till can run get check cashed or they will take balance in a check if don't accept credit cards. Bought 10,000 rounds, spent my $1,000 bucks (he was selling for 15 cents each in cans and 20 cents in individual 20 round boxes) and never even had to pay my way into fun show. Seller was stunned when pulled out ten wallet sized photos Ben Franklin that when made my offer of a dime per round he didn't blink just told me to back my truck up to his and we started moving cans.

This was 1996 for sure and it was all dated late 1980's. Since was year of Atlanta hosting Olympics am positive of time and remember AIM has been selling 1,000 rounds in battle packs for $130 and had gone up to $180 as Y2K collapse of supply chain rumors began to circulate and was kicking myself for not buying it at $130. If I had any sense would have gone somewhere and cashed a check but guy would not take a business or m personal check and banks didn't open on Saturday in Mayberry. Still have four or five cans of that Port packed 460 rounds per can which purged with nitrogen and put RTV silicone on gasket before shutting can. Have learned that if purge a U.S. Issue ammo can with a good gasket with nitrogen then close lid quickly and have silicone on gasket when open it looks like it did when closed it.

Cut my own throat when didn't buy the entire estate from old man up the street where had basement, garage and storage building packed with mix of belted and non belted Swiss GP11. Honestly think they may have given it to me just to haul it off as wanted to sell the house and real estate agent would not list till all ammo was gone. Was sorting boxes and digging to figure out if any other cartridges or flavors and scratching my head about all the linked when found a Swiss belt fed machine gun, tripod, spare barrels and other parts on a pallet. Backed out like it was a nest rattle snakes and told family to rip his house, any vaults, safety deposit boxes and anywhere he kept paper work for a Form 4 or any BATFE form that might make it at least transferable to a C&R or 07 SOT. They looked for almost a month, never finding so brought in a Class 3 07 SOT who carefully made it legal destroying only one part and was able to find a donor receiver and brought them more money than they could have hoped for and he muled all the ammo out except a few cases they gave me for my honesty and help.
