Best leather rejuvination product?

I have some old WWII era leather holsters, machete cases, etc. that are pretty dry and in need of some treatment. I've tried Lexol, but it needs something that will penetrate better. Any suggestions?

Research Vasoline / petroleum jelly. But don't use anything til you are sure. That stuff is too old to mess it up.

Ballistol.

It will darken the leather if that's a concern.

Do NOT use Neatsfoot oil, it will make your leather mushy, and bleed white paste.
I have had outstanding luck with Obenaufs oil, and use it on all my leather now for over 6 years with no ill effects.

Ditto. Neatsfoot oil (and any animal-derived oil- mink oil) contains salt, which effervesces to the surface and the crystals tear the leather fibers as the leather flexes.

Obebaufs and Sno Seal are great. I use Pecard's, which is what most museums use.

This.

Obenauf's for the win.

I have an old Schott riding jacket that was pretty dry. Schott recommends stuff called Otter Wax and it worked great for jacket and gloves. Not sure about stiff leather like scabbards and such. Didnt make leather limp or greasy.
