SIG 751! 308 SIG 550??

Wow,

Vickers runs one through some firing drills and it looks pretty darn nice. Hopefully the price drops. I wonder how it stacks up against the SCAR-17?

https://www.full30.com/video/3854060...acabb167cc82d3

At $4k they will get some takers, at $2500 they would get lots more. Maybe if they make it in US they can make it to take the SR-25 mags. That would be nice.

Seems like Sig USA has no interest in this line. Took someone else to import them from Switzerland. Sig USA is probably still smarting over the 551.

I'd like one. I love my AMT and my 551s. And have been using recently the 716 which beats the hell out of SCAR as far as longer range shooting. (However, that is comparing apples and oranges, So not knocking the SCAR overall).

They took a great rifle and bubbafied it. If they just stuck to the original design they would have way better off.

I've wanted a 751 SAPR since I shot my first ER 556. Such a shame that Sig USA completely ended their own 550 lineup. Sure would have been nice to have this instead of the 716 AR.

I'd lay down $4K for one of these if htey would throw an 18-20 inch barrel on it, but nope, everything has to be a CQB SBR thing, suprised they didnt throw an AR telescoping stock on it

IIRC this was introduced at SHOT a few years ago and since that time they've opted to go heavy on the AR platform. Glad to see some of these finally coming in, even if $4k.

I've been waiting for this rifle for years since it came out at the Shot Show and what do the dipshits do; put a pistol barrel on it.

Being a fairly recent import myself, I see this and I have to wonder, is it easier to import "pistols" than rifles? Maybe that's the easy way to get them in, and then go the SBR route once they are here to turn it back into a rifle. Otherwise it's all the 922 bizzo ...

That's exactly what's going on. These will be an instant collectors item.

I'm pretty sure pistols come under the same 922 BS do they not?

Nope, pistols are exempt from 922r. Absolutely no US crapola on the 553's they brought in. 100% Swiss:

Glad Im not the only one who shares this frustration. It must be some ATF rule that is associated with the barrel ban that keeps importers from being able to bring in real rifles, who knows...

Maybe the Bush-I era import ban is what's keeping them out?

I wish they would bring 14.5" barreled pistols, then all someone has to do is pin a FH to it and throw a stock on.

Of course, abide by 922r, if they are into that. But would allow for nice, pure imports

The trick is that they can't import rifle receivers or barrels, but they can import pistol receivers and barrels so long as they make the ATF "points" requirement. The only way they're getting these in is as pistols.

I'd love to have one-I have 553 and 551 SBR's-but I'm not laying out $4k for one.

I emailed the CEO at JDI and he confirmed that these would be imported with 14.5 inch barrels. I was going to put my name on the list if they were to have 18-20 inch barrels, but nope, its just shy of 15"

That's great news, I can pin a flash hider and get a rifle out of it.

I am sure the ATF is not letting rifle length barreled "pistols" in

Gotta be careful on the 55x series with pinning flash suppressors: make sure the piston can clear the FH before you do it. Most of the QD suppressor mounts prevent removal of the piston.

I just wish the ATF would pull their heads out of their asses and leave us alone.

Got lucky and scored a dozen SIG 516 uppers for $49 each. Best AR upper used to date and have six more coming just to hedge on losing access. Have a really good hook-up on SIG parts, get their 1911 ambidextrous safeties for $20, threaded pistol barrels in 9mm and 40 Smith $79, carbon fiber A2 stocks with buffer and spring for $69. They get a little of everything and said had some FDE 716 uppers and first person pulled one of my stunts and bought all they had. Said will get more along with other parts and am on their call when come in. Said complete uppers would be possible with correct situation. Apparently they have first shot at anything SIG has overstocked. If anything of interest pops up other than the 516 uppers will share the info or just share some out of my pile.

Luckee! That makes one of us... Any interest in trading a 516 for a 556 swat patrol?

I would get one in a heartbeat if they were still there.
That is a crazy good weapon.
