Vector Arms V-53

I have someone who is selling a Vector V-53 carbine that is similar to the one in the image below. Has a full barrel rather than the extension with a pinned and welded muzzle brake to comply with MA foolishness. The owner was going to SBR it into a 53 clone. He's looking for around $1300. Anyone have experience with them? Choices are slim here in MA, so when something like this surfaces, I'm inclined to buy!

Vector 51 & 53's I have had where excellent.
53 mags are high if that's an issue.
Can be found used closer to a grand.
Three position lowers and sear host ready.

I bought one as a pistol some years ago with the intent of putting a stock on it and then SBR it. Got it new from some outfit in Arizona for $1500 and bought five or six mags that at the time we're $40 each. I still haven't even shot it, some of my projects went to hell after the wife died

Bought a parts kit that had everything except the fire controls too. Sloth I guess.

Picked it up tonight.

Great little carbine. Came with the Magpul PRS stock and a surefire foregrip with flashlight. I'm not interested in either of these accessories. Saw that the PRS is a spendy stock and in pretty much new shape, but the sure fire was definately well used. Plastic is in great shape on the foregrip, but the flashlight is pretty scratched up. I will probably post them up in the Market place soon. Two steel 30 rounders and one Aluminum 40 rounder. Thanks for the advice.

Better late than never. The Vector V53 ran like a champ at the range. Surprisingly accurate at 65 yards and ran flawlessly with both steel and aluminum mags. It is a very lightweight gun, probably be more handy as an SBR. If the V53 is your cup of tea, don't hesitate to pick one up.

Very nice looking and a great price for that gun in MA when you consider you can recoup part of your cost selling the extra stock.

Thanks Blackmore...Sold the surefire for $75 here on the files. Posted the PRS2 for $175 with no bites though. Will probably try an H&K board next to sell the stock. I guess they are out of production.

I got mine a couple of years ago, with original barrel and welded fake suppressor. You may want to look for the correct handguard, Vector uses MP5 ones which are a tad shorter. Needless to say, check bolt gap and change rollers if needed.
