Recommendations for 30mm mount?

I have a Burris MTAC incoming and need some form of 30mm rings/mount to put it on my AR. I do not like the PEPR mount as it has the ugly, and useless to me, mount bases atop the rings. This is going on my lightweight middy and I don’t want to add more useless weight and something else to snag on stuff. What forward projecting 30mm mounts are out there that don’t cost an arm and a leg? Or if there is something expensive that is clearly superior and worth it, what is it and why? Quick detach is not an absolute requirement but would be nice.

The Burris PEPR mount is very sturdy, and I think it would stand up well in some rough scenerios. It is also very well priced. The mount comes with a spare set of plain upper rings if you dont like the ones with the extra bases. They could prove useful for mounting other accessories. IMHO

If the PEPR really comes with smooth rigns that is fine. I had read that somewhere else but none of the product descriptions I have read indicate the smooth rings are included. I have e-mailed some inquires about this and will see.

Edit: Just heard back from Primary Arms, and dang quick too. They confirmed the mount comes with the smooth rings and I just placed an order with them for one. I want to be ready to mount the scope soon after it arrives. You never know when the Zombies might attack!
