Didn't quite make the city limit

This is the furthest north I've seen an Armadillo in Missouri. ~ss

My neighbor three farms to the west told me last week he had one in the yard he chased with a lawnmower. That is the first I have heard of one this far north in KY.

My first semester of college in 1971, just out of high school, one of my suite-mates had a roomie from Wisconsin. He and a buddy had driven to Texas. They were amazed at all the "armored possums" they had encountered on their way. Yankees

So I met this cutie named Dana when I was in collage (yes, collage ) and we started getting to know each other.
She starts telling me about her sweet meat and how she's such a wild child.
I thought I had met a lipstick lesbian until I realized (days later) that she was saying suite mate...not sweet meat!
Was relieved to find out I had a chance with her and her sweet meat, yet.

Why did the armadillo cross the road? Why, Little Joe and La Familia were playing over there!

Down here this time o' year, the asphalt will be hot enough to have her done in that time! Remove shell (recommended) and dig in!

I heard south of the Mason-Dixon Line, they are referred to as “possum on the half shell”.

I know they are all over southern Missouri. My dogs don't know what to do with them. They chase them snapping at the shell then stop and look back at me as if to say "what the hell am I supposed to do with this thing"

Saw that once on a deer someone hit. Kinda funny. Should have took a picture.

Apparently from what my Brother had read one time, if you acquire a live armadillo that's curled into a ball, you can put it in a mail box and it'll stay that way until the mail box is opened and the thing comes shooting out.
