Speedfeed Stocks: Discontinued?
Thinking to sell my 870 set (probably 15 yr old) and have no idea what I paid for it, or what they go for today. Anyone know the scoop?
Despite the name there is nothing speedy about getting rounds out of the buttstock. Not cumbersome or difficult, but not "3-gun" fast. It's a good place to keep slugs while the tube is stuffed with buck. Faster than going back to the truck for some slugs. Byron |

Davis sold Speed Feed to someone else. I bought some of the standard ones (no shell carrier) because they have a shorter youth length which I prefer. I think the stocks were around $65 each. It adds zero to the value of the shotgun for resale. Used 870s (express) run $250-$350 around here. Few will pay more for a wingmaster.

Thanks, Mark.
Not selling the shotgun, just the stock set. |

Apex has the shell carrier in used G-VG for $35 So I'd say $50 if you have the fore-end as well

The speed feed on my 590a1 is comfortable, but the right side of it elects the 2 sheds about 80% of the time when I fire. I guess the inertia causes the shells to move and come off of the lip that holds them in. I just don’t use that side of it.

Ive got one that came on a mossy 500 combo with riot and bird bbls, from at least the early 90's, or whenever it was they first came out.
Its mostly lived in my work trucks since and has had countless cases of rounds through it, most all of it full house 2 3/4" buck or slugs. Hasent seen much frequent use in years, outside of being fired empty, cleaned and reloaded yearly, since I mostly shoot other things, but I havent had a single problem with it ejecting rounds or any other issue.. |

Same thing on my A1. Opted to get rid of the speed feed stock so I wouldn't be tempted to use it again. Happy camper with a few slugs in my jacket pocket.
