mags

Will they have the clamp on top to allow loading the mags and keeping the tension off the lips?

Will they work with mag loaders? FN/MagLula?

Will they fit in available mag pouches?

I guess first is Metric, how soon for Inch?

The lula and standard mag loaders work fine with them.
They also fit in my Canadian C1A1 mag pouches. (holds two)
The bottom plate is similar to how Pmags are so they protrude more than the original steel mags that are flush but they still fit and I can close the cover and insert the retainer.

And yes most importantly the mag will work!!!!!!!!!

Do we have an update on the final selling price and release date?

I know I've been looking at getting some more mags (have ~30 but got to the party late), and with the cheapest used surplus mags going for $15 and NOS ones for $25+ each, new quality US made mags at the $20 price point look very tempting. If they work and are at least as reliable as the steel mags, I would probably get at least 10.

This version of the moses mag will not fit the Kel Tec RFB unless you sand/file/dremel/mill some of the ribs on the outside down because the RFB mag well is deeper in places than the FAL. I might make a RFB/LAR-8 non ribbed version later but until then these should work great with a little modification.

Price is gonna be $23.99 per mag.
I do not have an exact release date, there are some minor adjustments I am having done to the mold and I am not sure how long those will take.
We are almost there!!!!

I will post a video here that I took today of the moses mag in action soon as I get a chance. BTW it ran flawlessly!!!!!

If you'd have used the logo I designed, the mag would be ready by now.

Would you be willing to sell these disassembled to California? Disassembled mags are not considered magazines here so it avoids the legal issues for those of us who shoot out of State and want something to use out there. Such parts kits are also used as the basis for 10 round mags here that look like larger capacity magazines (which look much better IMO than the proper 10-rnd mags); not sure if you're willing to do limited capacity mags with the 20-rnd mag body.

Also, what is the weight of these mags? Lighter than the alloy mags?

WP, but you would be the only one buying the mag if I used your logo!!!

I am looking into being able to render the mag to a 10 shot capacity for ban states & cities.

I'd have to look into the legalities of shipping them as disassembled mags.

I can refer you to Calguns. There are experts there on this stuff. It should be okay for California but I am not so sure about other States with magazine restrictions. California firearms law is written with a ton of loopholes.

OK here are a couple video's

I fired 160 rds through it today and used 5 different FAL's for the test.

I had to do some modifications by hand to the mag to get it into spec as the mold company made the core of the mold slightly undersized (that's why it gets a little harder to load those last couple rounds in the mag in the first video) but once I got the mag close to the dimensions I designed for it, the mag worked flawlessly!!!!

There are only a couple minor cosmetic things I need the molders to fix and of course they will also have to fix the core of the mold, but now it looks like I have a design that will work and it's shouldn't be too much longer before I have them on the market.

The second video is actually the first time I live fired the magazine!!!!!
Up until this I had only hand cycled rounds through the mag.

In the top video I charge the rifle with the cocking handle then unload that round, top off the mag and then charge the rifle using the bolt hold open lever just to demeonstrate it works both ways.
******** width="425" height="344">

I actually have 21 rounds in the mag in this video

Good one!

Can't wait to get my tax refund and stock up on a few mags. Thanks for taking the time, and $ risk, to take the mags from vapor-ware to "sold everwhere"

btw - I noticed, from the rate of fire on your mag test videos, that it appears you're working really hard on beating 7.93

I'm def in for a few mags. I voted for one or two, but I'm in for more. Especially when you get around to 30rnd'ers.

Dammit, why isn't FAL Files sending me e-mails about this thread any more!? :\

moses: Looks like a wonderful product!! Can't wait!

As for a Cali-Legal version: Maybe a big tall follower, or something permanently attached to the follower/plate that would also render the mag useless if removed (must not be easily converted back to 20rds, etc)...

I'd say design a 10rd body, and 5rd follower; so Commiefornia can have their neutered capacity mags, and us hunters can have a 5rds mag for some states that require no higher than 5rds for hunting rifles...

A 10rd 'half-stack' body, then a 5rd follower... This way, 10rd mags and 5rd mags would be only a follower different. Parts swapability = easier maintenance.

Also, with the 5/10 mag, you could sell the completed 10rd mag with the 5rd follower separate but included. Some states allow hunting with 5rds, 10rds, others unlimited...

Would be the easiest way, imho...

Definitely looking into doing some OD green and Flat Dark earth in the near future, also looking into making them 10 and/or 5 round friendly.

But, mainly concentrating on getting this first batch of 20 rounders in black working and to the market!!!

If I can get some colors done on this first batch I will, but the first 2000 will most likely be Black.

The simpler thing for California would be to just sell them disassembled as-is. There are some decent tutorials out there for converting polymer magazines from >10 rounds to 10 rounds or less. Most Californians convert the magazines themselves. Disassembled, they are no longer considered magazines from a legal perspective.

So is the consensus if I can only get one other color besides Black in the first batch to make them OD green?
I would like to get a count/feedback of what colors everyone would want

Choices are Black, OD green and Flat Dark Earth/tan
