Enfield Sniper, bubbaed

So, traded a Chinese SKS I had about $220 in today for this Enfield bubba got a hold of....

Can still see cheekpiece holes in the stock...Bloody shame eh

So, restore, value? No molested metal, just the wood

In a frikkin' heartbeat I'd restore it ! You may have to get a repro scope but WTF ? It just might be a hidden treasure shooter.

Numrich may still have front ends. I bought there for a No 4 Mk 1 I own in a similar condition.

They are addicting, I now own three... who makes yours? Hard to make out in pics. I have some enfield extras but no front wood, all of mine with exception of my (T) less savage shoot great. Luckily you still have the sling swivel and rear sight, those can be a bit pricey to track down separate. I can speak to the quality of the “Far East” scope mounts and that the quality is good and holds zero with no issues. My M47c is mounted with a nice weaver K2.5.

41 BSA, will try and get better pics of markings, no M47 stamp however ? T and R present, along with FTR rebuild stamp. Stock still has holes from cheek piece, scope mounts look like they've been on rifle since new, they match in finish perfectly. Plus the correct sling swivel at mag, correct rear sight, it screams real bubbaed rifle. Bore is like new as well. Considering my starting price, I'm happy

The very early snipers may be missing specific numbers and marks as these were converted by Enfield and not Holland and Holland. My Savage 42 is a early conversion by Enfield missing the T but has the TR with the same FTR like yours on the socket. If you take your butt stock off check for numbers in the socket area. Enfield marked the socket, I recommend also checking out milsurps.com excellent folks there and possibly one of the best crowds when it comes to Lee Enfield Snipers.

I love restoration projects like that. Wife doesn’t so much. Any moment now she’s going to ask me when I’m moving the pile of Vickers parts in front of the fireplace. Eh not like we need the fireplace now.

Restore and return!
