Worn out BHO?

I just took out my fal for its inagural shoot yesterday, and had some issues with the BHO. Even with an empty mag it wouldn't hold open properly. I removed the bho and noticed that the top was worn. When it did hold open, it was very sensitive and not secure.

Is this a worn out BHO? Its not my gas for sure, it was cycling fine on 5 with some nato surplus.

What he said? Can you push it up manually and set the bolt on it?

The spring has been lubed and it will spring right back up if I use a punch to test it out.

I can take the bho screw out and push the bho all the way in and it'll catch on the bolt. With everything working normally I can lock the bolt back. It does go farther in than when I put a magazine in.

However, when a mag goes in, the bolt will slide right off the bho and I can feel it rub momentarily before it flies forward. Could this be a weak mag spring/follower?

Does it hold open the bolt if you manually hold the BHO up?

Also, the pin in front is what pushes up the BHO. Make sure that pin engages fully with the magazine follower.

It does hold the bolt open if I hold it up. The pin does engage the mag follower, but if I hold/push up the rear of the magazine it'll work properly.

The BHO was not engaging when I was firing this last weekend.
