Hey you guys, are the team shoot plates 8"x 13" or 8"x12"? Mine are at Dave's so I cant measure them. Gonna cut 12 more so nobody has to pack extra junk with them. Seems to me it was 13" on the long side.

Scored a nice piece of light hay tarp today that we can use as a sun shade on the old house side addition. I'll scrounge up a 1/2 ball of twine to tie it down.

So now that we are getting the gourmet stuff out of the way... Does anybody have any event ideas and which days? I figure Saturday will be the Drop 15 and the team shoot event. Friday? Terry? Jason?

Bruce did this as part of the GA match a couple of times and I did it last month at my KY shoot.

V-tac barrier and two 3/4 sized silhouettes at about 70 yards for fastest time.

Good fun. Challenging, but not so challenging that some can't do it.

I have the V-tac pattern as a PDF if you guys want it. Send me you email addy if you do.

run it until Saturday.

Sounds good to me, I like that event. Toyed with idea of running it with a .44 mag lever gun.

Please discuss??????

I am familiar with the beer, but not the event.

Will I need chaps and spurs?

The *Dos Equis Challenge*

*The most interesting match in the world is quite simple.

The following is posted for familiarization and clarification.

There are a total of ten targets, in three different groupings. 3 close range, 4 mid range, 3 long range.

All distances are approximated by The Range Prick at setup.
Targets are well within rifle range for novice shooters, and also Marines.

Score is total time.
No round limit.
Any rifle, any sights.

The targets MUST be engaged in groups from nearest to farthest.

There are two shooting locations, approximately 5 yards apart.

Shooter starts at standing low ready, in location of choice.

Upon the start signal, and before firing, the shooter must either:

Move to the other location,
OR
Assume a different position.

No more than 2 consecutive rounds may be fired from any position.
No more than 4 consecutive rounds may be fired from any location.

If more than 2 consecutive rounds are fired from any position,
OR more than 4 consecutive rounds are fired from any location,
OR shooter deliberately engages targets out of order of threat, the shooter is disqualified.

DQ'd shooters MAY go to the end of the line for a reshoot, even though they will probably continue to suck.

Rules

Now you have gone and changed the rules, not fair.
To clarify, you have added 4 rounds for location.

True, in a sense.
It is actually a clarification, based on the premise of defending without cover or concealment.

Some played pogo.

That shit will get you killed, if you believe in the premise.

You did notice who designates the distances, yes ?

I have the V-TAC board set up (board + frame) and the C-zone steel.

I'm hoping to make it. But at very worst I can deliver to Rich or Terry.

Looks like we may be having a range work weekend prior to the shoot weekend. Don't be feeling like anybody needs to drive 300+ miles for this. But anybody that wants to help is welcome.

Dave's been a bit shorthanded this year with wheat harvest and fall planting with BIL Jim still out with health issues. Prayers for Jim would be appreciated too.

Prayers for healing and health said.

Good thoughts are most definitely with Jim and everyone else. Hope Jim improves soon. He is one of the “unsung hero’s” of the shoots. Always does tons of stuff to prep and clean up and yet is so quiet about it. Good people.
Know Jim we have you in our thoughts.

Let me know when you are going to do this. You know I live so far away it takes me all of about 25 min to get to the canyon.

And yeah Dave never lets me know anything, he thinks I already know everything.

Weekend before, (14th) some of us crazy types might be there Friday night...

That will be nothing but an evening of relaxation before the tasks at hand.

You prefer snausage or bacon with that??

Fug it, I'll do both.

We've got 90lbs. of fresh blueberries that I can either put in the pancakes, or make a syrup to top, or both. Or do you prefer a good maple syrup...and I'm NOT talking that Aunt Jamama shit either...
