FAL Rear sight

Anyone else out there experienced problems with their rear sight moving forward as the rifle is fired? If so how did you sort the problem? When I used my first reloads that were a little on the soft side, no problem with the rear sight but the rifle did not cycle. I'm increasing the load for my next batch. Factory (GGG) .308 works well but is very expensive over here in France.

My rifle is an inch pattern FAL.

Cheers

Is the little ball detent snapping into place firmly when the aperture is moved? Perhaps the spring is a bit weak?

I had the same problem with my first Britt L1A1. I ordered a replacement spring, but before it came in I pulled the sight apart, cleaned everything, and stretched out the original "weak" spring.

That was a few thousands rounds ago and the new spring is still in the parts bin waiting to be installed when needed. YMMV.

As mentioned. New spring. Stretching spring works ok
