Current Sarco Para bolt carrier

Hey group. Has anyone tried the current non sand cut Para bolt carriers that Sarco has on their website for sale? Any good?...or bad? Thanks.

I recently built a para using one of these, and had zero fit or function problems. Am using one on a current build, for which I will post a build/range report when done. Thus far, its fit and function are flawless.

Overall, I would say they are good to go. I have had an instance, with a third carrier, where one particular StG bolt was too tight of a fit, and would not fully insert into the carrier; however, five other bolts (BGS, Canadian, Imbel, and 2xBrit) did fit with no trouble. Small sample size, so YMMV, however ...

I agree with Art. I think they are Argy in origin. Much better than the DSA one I had to mill on to correct it's trapezoidal characteristics.

Replaced the one in my DSA Para because I don't like the sand cuts with Sarco's a while ago. Works great.

My understanding is that the "Para" bolt carriers offered by Sarco are Argentine surplus...and yes I've built many para's with them to great success.

YMMV

Yes, when I converted a 50.00 into a 50.64 I went with the Sarco Argentine bolt carrier, no sand cuts.. It works exceptionally well.

I'm about to do a para conversion....

Apparently Sarco has a good carrier.
Milsurpmonkey has good spring sets.
Where is the best source for a top cover?

I'd like a source for a non DSA nose cut para top cover myself.

Argentine Top Cover from Sarco

As far as a Top Cover from Sarco goes... I planned on using one of Sarco’s Para-Scope Covers that came with their Para-Accessory Kits to go on my Para Build. Once I received it, I discovered the Top Scope Rail was only attached with small screws. My Original Plan was to remove the scope rail and locktite in some set screws to fill the holes. The Sarco Para Top Cover is nosed and fitted perfectly into my nose cut Imbel Upper Receiver. Much to my surprise, I scored a couple original FN Para Top Covers...so now I am thinking about installing a Hensoldt Wetzler G3 Scope or something...Jury is still out on Model of Scope to select.

PS: Sarco Argy Carrier worked excellent! The FN Rear Sight Assembly required minor filing to get it to fit the FN Lower (instructions in the FAL Bibles mention the fitting issue)...I just went slow on it...and suddenly it slid right on through with the Z-Spring in place

If your talking about the dingus tube between the inner springs, I'm pretty sure DSA is the only game in town..

But how could that be so! DSA even came out with a video showing how every one of them is test-fitted in a special fixture!

After a period of 75-100% failure, I assume every DSA carrier will require machine work to even get it to slide down the rails.

From the Numrich parts for the FN49:

https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/50080

This should work, if you have Milsurp Monkey's para springs. It does in mine.

Thumbs up

Received the Para bolt carrier from Sarco yeaterday. Good fit and finish, slid right into an Imbel and DSA receiver, Imbel bolt snapped into the carrier no problem. Initial firing pin did require filing to fit. However I tested a few other surplus firing pins and they did fine.
