Get the Ratas wrench and vice. There is none better. I have used his tools on multiple builds and his vice on several none FAL rifles to remove the barrels. No issues at all.

Here are a couple of threads on how to contact Ratas Calientes:

Mr. Ratas

I just used Mr. Ratas mans wrench and vise on my first build, I highly recommend them. Ordered them off of his website and had them at my house about a week later. Website is faltools.com.

Now why you do not engrave a rat on fire on your tools is something I will never understand...

Because it would raise the price and titewads would bitch about it.

WELL used and abused Ratas tools...

So easy a cave man can do it.. just knocked this out, took me longer to unscrew the gas nut and tube than removing the barrel (why people cut the receiver stub is beyond me. No marks on the Imbel painted finish.,

Looks good. Lead lined wrench? What paper did you use in the vise?

I just use card stock in the barrel vice, typically just a non glossy business card cut/ripped in half lengthwise.

Inside on wrench I use fiber reinforced strapping tape. Tape it around inside of wrench lengthwise. Believe it or not, if the wrench is tight, the fibers are strong enough to prevent marring.

... almost too easy.
