Weekend at Dave's

Next Saturday I will be meeting up with Milsurpmonkey at the Brush511 range we aren't doing any organized events, just hanging out and plinking and later drinking. 10 am is the time to be there. CV is cleared to shoot her Garands and wants to burn up a bunch of my ammo. We are going to overnight in the Suburban.

So anybody that wants to come over is more than welcome.

I wish I could join you, but as far as I know right now, I will be working up North through the weekend.

Have fun.

I should be there. I’m in Montana visiting kids. We plan to be home Thurs. night. We spent the last two days hunting for shed antlers and just got back to civilization.

Did you find any antlers for your shed?

There's a 95% chance I'm going to throw a couple rifles and Butter (my dog) in the truck and head up for the day

We are traveling light this trip. (Suburban not the Dinosaur), Only packing the little Coleman stove and grill, we should have plenty of coffee for Sunday morning and CV has a pile of dogs and buns+ chips for Saturday lunch. Also plenty of that peppered bacon for Sunday breakfast. We have ourselves covered for Saturday dinner. Oh, we are covering monkeyboy too. I owe him big.

Hint, hint... If somebody would like to bring a full size grill, we might bring half a dozen of those huge ribeye steaks that we seem to notorious for. Each one can easily be cut in half.

The only factory loaded rounds I have are Hornady 75gr. Steel Match. Anything else I have is going to be reloads.

The road is still tore up, so use the directions you used for the April shoot. Also, things have dried out significantly. The road building crew has managed to start two fires in the last eight days. Even though the grass still looks somewhat green it will burn. Depending on the weather, we may limit shooting on the longer range targets (over 300 yds.). The closer ones are easier to get to and put out if fires start. You will see where yesterdays fire burned on your way into the range. They got it stopped at the farm road we drive in on. Looking forward to seeing you reprobates.

You mean, you mean, Stella is not free?

Check the history on the AK, the original sheetmetal receiver wasn't good, so Kalishnikov went milled receiver for a few years til they got the sheetmetal thing worked out. After that...

They are a lot of fun to shoot. They used to be cheap fun... Now, not so cheap.

I can bring a "bad Commie rifle" too.
