Bought a pair of factory "refurb" Leupold Trackers recently on a one day special for $339 with free shipping and none of the common Optics Planet used/wrong item shipped isues from anot her vendor. Factory refurbs in electronics are generally buyer remorse returns after wife sees the credit card bill. Factory puts them through about five times the testing of new items off the line, they are also inspected by a human and reboxed with warranty. Half my high dollar audio and fair amount of ham radio gear is "factory refurb" and never had an issue. Purchased my first professiinal CD player in 1985 as a factory refurb from a big stereo vendors outlet store when a true audiophile CD player was well over a grand. Picked up a NEC 705CD-E, $999 retail unit as a refurb for $299 and it's in my shop still spinning up disks to this day. Have never had a factory refurb electronic device of any kind let me down. Don't be afraid to look at "refurbs" and factory "reconditioned" electronics.

BawanaJim,

You did something that I thought was not humanly possible, silence from Mr. Hueyville!

Optics planet ran a special on the Leupold Mark6 1-6 back around 7/4 where if you purchased it they would toss in the Tracker at no additional cost. Course the Mark6, a fine scope, also carried about an $1,800 price as it was reduced from 2199!

I like Huey, he works really hard to find the right gear. I just wish his post were better broken up into paragraphs and spaces added. This small screen is hard to read a jumble fug of words.

So I ordered one of these on the 19th and they gave me a Fed Ex tracking number that said it would be here today. FedEx truck rolls by and no package so I check the tracking number and they changed delivery date to Saturday. So I called Planet Optics and asked what the problem is and there was no real answer given. So I told them if it isn't here by Saturday then cancel the order and delete the charge.

Hang around waiting for delivery and they change it by two days, wtf.

Any updates on this? Did it show up, and do you like it?

It showed up days after they said it would. I like it a great deal and it performs as advertised. Loaned it to a friend who lives out in the country with no street lights and he was really happy to play with it for a week.

It has different views and colors of views so you end up picking what you like best. It's not something you could walk with in the dark close to your eye but if you just stand there you can see everything. It's small and fits a pocket so I put it in my get me home bag with two extra batteries.

Expensive but I got it on sale and would buy it again at the cheap price of $544. I would not pay $900

I will have to find a deer

In pitch black you can easily make out animals in any color you pick to use. I will go out around the farms here and see how far away the cattle can be seen.

I almost hit the 'order' button on this item when I caught a review that it didn't have a focus feature. My old eyes need that.
