Thanks Texgunner. I've been collecting for a long time and came across many goodies along the way. I wish the mags matched on the Type 14, but it came with a sweet holster, cleaning rod and extra firing pin which is the wrong (short) type.
A few things about this one...The safety lever has been repaired along the way and the mag retaining spring has been broken off. I guess not all the soldiers wanted that feature.
More stuff to come...

Thanks hansellhd. Wishing I had more disposable income to give ya a run for your money LOL. I need to retake so many pictures and there's so much stuff I don't have any pics of. Either it's too hot, not enough light, raining, too many mosquitoes, neighbors watching, etc. Wish I had a deck like yours to lay things out. Need to be so careful when I lay things on the concrete patio...I use spacers to hold them off the rough surface.

Screw the neighbors. My disposable income has been disposed of.

P.S. You are one of the few collectors I know who has an M1941 Johnson, way to go Bro.

Yep, definitely not many around. Yours is in way better shape though. My dad brought that into the collection. He had initially shown/asked me about it and I said meh because it's rough. My b-day rolls around and it ends up in my lap.

Had it out a few times and each time it needed something to work reliably...a missing screw, new recoil spring, new extractor. Seems fine now. Interesting recoil pulse though, kind of a double bump.

Thanks gosh for the Johnson Rifle site with all their tips, tricks and advice. I found this out on my own though...If you need to replace/clean/lube the recoil spring, you can use the FAL buttstock tool to remove the spring tube nut too.

We have a problem...but it's a good problem! Seeing a lot of my collection in those pics too.

Wish I felt comfortable enough to have stuff out. Everything I have is locked up.

My Johnson rifle came with a Kerr sling on it. Looked good, but I knew it wasn't right. Found an appropriate condition M1907 sling. Now the Kerr is for my 03A3.

Damn, who could blame you brother! Yes, we are okay here in central Texas. In fact, we're having a very nice, and quite welcome, sunny day. Thanks for your concern sir!

Long Branch guns, a No. 4 Enfield and a Sten

Both of these weapons were made at the Long Branch, Ontario works during World War Two. The 1943 No. 4 Mk I* Enfield was bought from a member here (thanks Perry!) and is a great shooting rifle in really nice condition. The 1944 Sten Mk II was given to me by a friend in 2004. I filled in the transfer request in mid-August and received the Form 4 at the end of October that year. I have since learned that this machine-gun was built for the Nationalist Chinese Army, but whether it was ever delivered overseas I couldn't confirm.

My son is a big man, in high school he maxed out at 450 pounds on the benchpress. A strong man, he scoffed when I demonstrated loading the Sten mags with the loading tool. "Why are you using that?" I told him it was impossible to load more than a few rounds without it. I handed him a magazine and a box of ammunition. After about the third round in, he was struggling mightily to get further. In fact, he pressed down so hard that he broke our coffee table. "Damn, give me that thing!"

Here's the one thing you don't want to lose as a Sten owner:

skinnydash, I'd love to shoot that beautiful Krag.
I've only handled one and haven't had the opportunity to shoot it. Is it a good shooter?

Texgunner, it's been decades since I've shot the Krag, but I recall the pattern wasn't good at all. There isn't much rifling left at the end of the barrel. Thinking the steel cleaning rods and new recruits cleaning did their evil work. Like everyone says, the Krag actions are slick.

You have some nice K98's there H! Only have one in my collection, and while you've seen it on PB, I really need to take better pics. My BNZ 42 has wood like the first one in your 3rd pic above. Had an Izzy sight hood, but I got a normal K98 hood in similar condition to fix that. Needed a cleaning rod, and managed to find an unnumbered one in similar condition. Also found a sweet dvr 42 dated sling and RG34 cleaning kit to accessorize. Only thing left is to buy at least one ammo pouch.
Instead of buying more firearms, I'm focusing more on getting parts/accessories now days. Takes awhile for things to pop up for sale that match what you're looking for.

That's too bad, it's a beautiful rifle. Eager recruits can sure do a number on the muzzle with those steel rods. I have a Turk T38 Mauser with an "oval" muzzle. I was surprised to see that it wasn't a bad shooter at close ranges. That might not hold true further out.

Nice Marlin there Texgunner! I have a 20's vintage Winchester 94 carbine in 32 WSP. Someone carried it a lot...probably a farmer on a tractor. That lever action is soooo smooth. Need to find an appropriate looking/worn stock set to match the rest on the gun.

Thanks skinny! I had wanted one for several years but they always went for more than I wanted to pay. I got this one off Gunbroker a few weeks back. It's got some dents and scratches and some finish wear; sort of like her new owner, also a '52 model.

Ok back with something new from the C&R world.

This is a French occupation K98K Mauser. These rifles were manufactured under French direction at the German Mauser Plant from 8/45 to 5/46 for the French armed forces.

This one is in excellent condition with all matching parts and mirror bore.

Pictured with the rest of my German WW2 rifle collection.

Looking at the condition of both I suspect most of their time in service was spent in the holster. Most likely in the Low Countries/France.
