I have reoccurring dreams about obtaining an excellent condition K31. Your Swiss rifles are very nice!

Here are my Sino-Soviet SKSs I picked up a few years ago. Both are factory /26\ all matching. One is a letter series the other is a six-digit no letter. The stocks were completely soaked in cosmoline when I got them. I baked out the cosmoline in a trash bag and paper towels in the Florida sun. Then I slapped on a couple coats of amber shellac followed by steel wool buffing. Cheers!

Isn't there a way to date Factory 26 rifles, according to their serial numbers? It seems like I've read that somewhere.

Yes and no. There are pages and pages of discussion on Survivor's SKS forum. These are early Sino-Soviet models circa 1956.

'56 was the first year of SKS production in China wasn't it? I believe there was still a lot of Soviet involvement in their manufacture. How long did Soviet technicians stay involved? I seem to recall two years or so.

Question PACO - do you have the ammo to run all of those awesome weapons? in your possession? based on your collection - I'd say you need at LEAST 1 million rds, in various calibers, to keep that collection fed, Minimum.

I'm hoping to get some group pics soon, including my meager collection of Swiss carbines. Until then, here is my 1928 Swiss K11. I bought it from Simpsons Ltd around 2010.

The one I have came from the same place. Get a sling on it Tex.

When these Swiss rifles dry up (and they will) the price will skyrocket!

Looks like somebody is making 7.63 Mauser or 7.62X25 from .223 or 5.56 brass.

That would be me making 7.62X25 from LC 90 .223 brass. The only trick is having a .312" reamer.

Have a nice weekend.

Man those grips on that Luger look great! Are they Bakelite? Very nice pistol you have there.

This thread shall not die.

Got a bunch of 16-18th century goodies coming in.

Meanwhile, an FR8 converted to 8mm with a reprofiled K98 barrel.

Very nice! I'm diggin' that cool spotting scope too. I think Capt. Nemo had one just like it on the Nautilus.

Picked up some more polearms, and an early 19th century Belgian cuirass.

While I strive to keep everything original, the newest halberd (center, low) is likely a Victorian era reproduction. The spike wasn't reinforced like the confirmed original mid-15th century ones, so I want to stay realistic on it.

The overflow are now stuffed in my umbrella stand.

And this C&R thread is derailed already... here's my newest bronze. Obnoxiously large, signed and numbered.

I like it, nice solid Carbine. I put 120 flawless rounds down range, prints average @ 1.5 MOA. That's using some old Surplus Green tip.

It's about time the SCAR16 had some competition.

I can only share one in this amazing thread. I showed my wife your photographs guys and never again will she complain about what I have in my gunroom. My contribution is a lovely Valmet M83? .243 , quite unusual and from the condition looks to have been hardly used... cheers

Neither did I until it came into my house. I was told that the Valmet "Hunter" 308 was a well sort after rifle here , especially with the deer cullers shooting from choppers. Is there some way to date these models from the serial numbers ? ... cheers

Sorry I have no idea, most were made in the 1980's.
