Michigan approves concealed weapons in schools, churches
The same day as the Newtown school shooting, Michigan passed a bill that allows the carrying of concealed weapons in previously off-limits areas, including schools.

The question is whether Governor Snyder will sign it.

That's if our RINO, Citizen of the World, Former CEO of a US Company who offshored 18 K US Jobs and ran his company into the ground and leaving with a 14 Million dollar Golden Parchute will sign what the legislature passed. Even then those Pricipals can only do so if their heirarchy approves or does not prohibit their "carrying of weapons in the school"
Many Educators oppose this bill. Snyder may not sign the bill. So much for the lofty liberal ideals of our Highly Educated Educators who all too often live in a world of make believe when it conflicts with the hard realities of life.

Just started a thread that includes this topic.
Denial is the enemy which seems to come from political correctness run amuck.

No surprise! Confirmation of what I stated earlier. Snyder is no friend of the Gun owning public and is indifferent to school safety by anyone other than a Bureaucrat.

The good governor is under intense pressure to release Barrabas. I don't doubt the major news organizations have already fired a shot across his bow.

I'll gladly sign a recall petition for this joker. Good chance the recall would pass.
He's pissed off the retirees, the unions and now a good chunk of gun owners. Good riddance.

Snyder did veto the bill. It will cost him a lot of votes, but in the meantime the restrictions stay on the CPL folks.
Before the current CPL law, MI had a CCW law. The permits were harder to get, but they allowed a no restriction carry. To get the current law, the CPL supporters had to agree to the restrictions. Maybe one day the restrictions will be gone. Hopefully the bill will be reintroduced next year. Snyder might sign the bill just to get back some voters. We can only hope. Dan |

Maybe this is a silly question, but how can a legislature regulate carrying guns in churches? I consider a church private property, and it would be up to the church to approve or disapprove carrying on their property.
