Can I Install An Aimpoint QRP Mount 'Backwards'?

Is there any reason that I shouldn't install an Aimpoint Comp M2 'backwards' on its QRP mount so the knob is off to the right instead of the left? I'm putting it on an AK-variant with an extended top rail and it seemed to be a good idea to let that big knob protrude out on the side that the bolt handle sticks out of anyway.

For the archives, as nobody replied - Aimpoint told me that there was no functional reason not to mount the QRP 'backwards' and other than aesthetics there would be no functional difference.
