No, metrics are threaded the other way.

DSA have a 'Browning' flash hider that is similar looking that fits a metric rifle. The pic below shows the DSA on an STG rifle.
Falfiles member 'moses' makes some that are similar as well.

i would think the diameter would be the same and a smith could thread it however you wanted it...i would go for the brit 3 slot type...stronger than the 5 slot and more correct than a metric or other type of f/h....

Ironwood designs supplied the wood (walnut) (Thx!)

It might just be possible to rethread the L1A1 hider to fit the STG threads. L1A1 hiders are plentiful and cheap enough to try it.

I would fit a DSA browning type or a moses one before I cut the barrel - to thread the barrel properly, the guys that know what they are doing remove the barrel from the rifle, cut, crown and rethread which costs at least $100 plus shipping etc.

Just re-thread the flash hider so the threads go the right direction.
Been done many times.

Don't cut on the barrel.

Cool I had one of their sets but it was too fancy and had been refinished in this shiny coat so I sold it. I really hate shiny wood on guns. But your set looks great. The ironwood handguards I had did lock up together really nicely though.

What did you apply for the finish?

------------------------------------------------------------------
Try contacting sledgehammer. I had him install a flash hider on a neutered barrel that was already on a receiver and it was less than $50 course I was able to just drive over to his place back then so no shipping. He cut it , rethreaded and installed the flash hider.

But I agree with everyone else i'd just go with a browning. It is very similar and you won't have to cut the barrel. The browning and l1a1 hiders are my favorites. You could just build an l1a1 to put an l1a1 hider on You could rebarrel but then you'd just have a mutt.

Hi, All you need is the tap and a steady hand. I did the same thing you are doing. It came out fine, easy to do.

I found an interesting tool on Brownells web site.
It is a FAL THREAD ALIGNMENT TOOL for threading barrels.
I'm not sure of R or L hand but it's interesting!
It's only $24.95!
