Howdy,

I'm lookin' to sell a couple of my .22's. If you, the reader, wouldn't mind helping out with estimating a value, I would be greatly appreciative.

First up is a 1983 Romanian M1969 Trainer. Condition is superb. I've put maybe 150 rounds through it. I don't get out enough. It comes with the original magazine, plus four of the Taiwanese mags that were available a while ago, for a total of five. The cleaning kit is still in the stock. I paid $120 for it about a year ago. Looks like they're going for $150 now.

Second, what model is the revolver in the following picture and what is it worth? In case you can't see it, it's marked "H&R .22 Special" on the left side of the barrel, and "22 LONG RIFLE CTG." on the right. The cylinder has nine chambers, the trigger is double action only, it's a top-break, the frame locks up tight, and the front sight is a brass blade. It works just dandy, and the only wear is a little at the muzzle and on the frame near the pivot screw. I've so far been unable to find the model designation for this H&R.

rimfirecentral is the place to go for research.

The Romanian trainer sold for $89 just a few years ago. There's a guy trying to get $100 for one on rimfirecentral

Not any offers yet.

If you can get $100 for it, you will have done good. $150 would require a first time buyer that's unfamiliar with firearms but there are plenty of those out there.
The M69 has no collector value. I would put the price closer to $75 but I shoot a lot of 22s and would have a better project for the $150.

For the H&R, I sold one maybe two years ago for $125 and think I got much more than the gun is worth

Gun prices have a lot to do with the area you're in, you may get more than it's worth or less

I looked on rimfirecentral about the H&R, the most that was said is "don't pay very much for it". Good advice if you're the buyer

So $100 a piece sounds reasonable. At this point, I'd rather have them out of my hair. I'm not a fan of the .22, so I'd rather have them gone. Thanks.

When you decide on a price for that H&R let me know. I am interested in purchasing it

Lew,

That H&R is a Harrington & Richardson. I don't remember the exact model designation, but they were a relatively inexpensive revolver made by the boatload in the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's. I believe the H&R was bought by New England Firearms some time in the 1990's, and NEF is now making and selling some of the H&R designs, but if I'm not real badly mistaken, that revolver is no longer in production. If you can find an old copy of Gun Digest, they should have a picture and MSRP for the gun. As I've said, they weren't a very expensive gun, and I think that retail on it now would be between $100 and $200, but check The Blue Book of Gun Values just to make sure. The Blue Book doesn't have pictures, but they do have very accurate, detailed descriptions of the guns, so you should be able to figure out what it's worth give or take a few bucks.
