AOL Users - Read this BEFORE you email me.

AOL Sucks. If you're having a problem logging in, staying logged on, it's because you have chosen an ISP that sucks.

1. Stop using AOL's built in browser. This is the cause of probably 90% of the complaints I receive from people who can't login, post, reply etc. Use a downloaded copy of IE or Netscape instead.

2. Browse with cookies - Make sure this option is turned on in your profile. If you turn it off you won't be able to stay logged in at all cause again.. AOL sucks.

Yeah, it sucks. But after watching ALL of my friends, that use other IPs, having to change, because their IPs goes TU, I'll stay with it.
The logging off thing isn't too bad once you get used to it. And if I really want to vote in a poll, I just log in with IE.

Oh, by the way, this sucky AOL saved my bacon several times when it caught several emails with worm viruses in them. That alone makes it worthwhile.

My main bitch with AOL 8.0 is the pop ups. I seem to get them all the time now. And the spam email. I never got any of that with all the other versions I used.

Sorry Jen, just had a real f*cked up day and feel like unloading and you are getting it.

NP Id.. I've gotten about 20 or so emails today alone from AOHell users having problems.. and all of them are the same issue.. I just got real tired of responding, hence this post.

My virus checker catches email viruses too, and no popups

Why don't you try NetZero. $9.95 a month for unlimited surfing. I've never had a fail to connect or been kicked off.

I also have a virus checker (Norton), but it's nice knowing my IP looks for them also. It never hurts to have twice the protection.

I could do without the friggin' pop ups, though.

Like I tell my wife, use AOL to check you mail ONLY.
Not to surf the internet.

We have a cable modem so we do not rely on AOL for ISP.
But I have in the past used AOL for my ISP and I always used IE to surf.

Let me tell you something. If you DIDN'T use any products from corporations that contribute to the antis, you wouldn't be wearing most of your clothes, or driving most of your cars, or calling long distance, or watching any TV, or able to clean your house, or......
Get the picture?
Try wiping your ass with a stick because all of the corporations that make cleaning supplies, also contribute to the antis, one way or another.
I keep hearing they are anti-gun, but I've used them for years, with an username of idsubGUN, plus I have an AOL private web page, with my home gunsmithing business on it and have never had anyone from AOL contact me about these things.
I work for Micron Technology/Crucial and saw their name on an anti-gun site, stating they gave to the antis. I contacted my CEO about this and it was the first they ever heard about it. They contacted that web site and had them pull their name from the site. So, what is true?
Look under your sink and count the Johnson & Johnson products. They contribute to the antis. You wear Levis? Guess what? The list goes on and on.

Why would you knowingly support these people? Im sure we support an anti organization in some way, but AOL is adamantly anti gun. Know who the parent company is of AOL? Comrade Ted Turner. We are not talking about some company that "contributes to a general charity, but has no control where the funds go" i.e. DELL Computers. They are not straddling the debate, they are not on our side!

That's another one. Where is it stated that Turner is anti?

My friend just got back from Ted Turner's ranch in Montana. He was hunting buffalo both times. They brought back a total of three, one from the first hunt and two from the second. If Turner is that anti-gun, why would he allow people to hunt buffalo on his ranch? It can't be as simple as culling the herd. Hell, Turner is rich enough to have them culled by other means if he was anti-gun.
I mean, I hear this stuff all the time, but seldom see any news release or publication, about it.

Now, Turner is a loud mouth, obnoxious, POS. That I can agree with.

Now I never said that Ted Turner was anti gun, but it would really surprise me if he was pro-gun...that would defy all logic .
