1911's at the SHOT Show

Cabot Guns has some spectacular 1911 pistols on display. I took some pics for you to enjoy.

Their listed prices were special too. $6-$10K.

They definitely upped the state of the art in Damascus slides over what has been available from Caspian Arms. They are into color case hardening too. They also like diagonal front strap checkering. I'll have to try this sometime.

Wow, that's a lot of BLING!

Amazing what can be done to "Ole Slabsides" and a few thousand dollars.

Thanks for the showin' Slo Cat.

I can appreciate Cabot's artistry in craftsmanship but it's beyond what some, like me, desire...different strokes and folks and all.
Thanks for the report and cool pics.
Some of the case coloring is tasteful but it can quickly get "busy" combined with the rest of the pistol enhancements.
Two cents of mine.

Love the grips also, especially the bottom set and the stag(?).
Any of these would make awesome BBQ guns.

It's been a long time since I've seen a reference to BBQ guns. I'll bet not many know what this is.

Those look like real works of art, not something you would actually want to shoot.

Look like the gold plate would wear off of high spots before gun broke in and the fancy comps looked to be bushing comps, not reverse cone or threaded to barrel with well fitted bushing. Till held one and put through its paces might have the blind but would have to see if shot to same level as blinged out. That big trigger with three stars machined out is so long looks like might be too heavy to get a super light trigger job. Sometimes when people do so much cosmetic work wonder which crowd their playing to? The drug cartel/gang banger/rap singer with lots of cash or the guy looking for different look AND performance. We're there any 25 yard test targets?

You have to understand those who buy $6-10K 1911's. Also, Cabot Guns also sponsored a NRA bullseye team headed by Brian Zins, 12x National Pistol Champion (1996, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010). And he used their guns in competition. This is probably a statement about the quality of their 1911's.

They make $6-10K show guns and they make accurate guns shot by national champions. What is it you don't understand?

Works of art.
